I visited Épi Fanny in Quebec and had a very upsetting experience. I ordered an Americano, and the staff filled the paper cup completely to the brim. When I asked for a lid, I was told it was “on the other table.” As I turned to get one, the flimsy cup collapsed and spilled burning hot coffee on my hand and wrist. I shouted from the pain, not a single staff member asked if I was okay or offered any help beyond a cup of ice. No concern, no apology. You can appreciate the cup poor quality on the picture. This is completely unacceptable for any food establishment. Accidents happen, but basic human decency and customer care should not be optional. I’m shocked by the lack of responsibility or empathy. Please consider better training, safer practices (sturdier cups, not overfilling, add lid at the counter), and most...

Go for: Phenomenal and sizeable pastries and delicious hot coffee on a cold day.

Avoid if: You're on a low-carb diet.

Something surprising: This place started in Quebec and recently expanded to a second location.

Reservation needed? No, counter service only. Seating is limited, so be prepared to wait.

Overall Experience: Really excellent selection of hard-to-find, high-end, complex pastries at reasonable prices. The staff was accommodating to English-speakers, and might even let you try out your minimal French with only a few laughs. They have some hot food and pastries, and the pastries are fantastic.

Value for Price: 4 Sanitation: 3 Food Quality: 5 Menu Precision: 4 Service Quality: 4 Timing: 4 Decor: 3 Access: 3 — 5 among the best 4 strong 3 not too bad 2...

Love all the sandwiches, croissants and desserts. Best bakery in my 3-day stay in Quebec old city, would definitely come again. Iconic Newyork rolls have sweet fillings and I tried pistachio roll which has moderate sweetness. Chicken sandwich has tender chicken, basil pesto sauce, grilled (probably marinated) tomatoes which add more zings. Macchiato desert and Tartelette were recommended by the staff when I struggled with making choices. I picked Macchiato which has a thin jelly-texture coat, the cool and refreshing coffee taste struck me when I had the first bite. My family had the rest and they handed down this bakery really has something. Plus compared with the product price of Paillard on the same street, price here is absolutely more reasonable...

A gem of a little bakery that wasn't too far from our hotel. We went in for breakfast one day and every single thing we had was so yummy we had to go back before leaving Quebec City! It's one of the few places that open early in the morning and is just perfect to grab and go some pastries or even sit in and eat. We had the viral New York croissant which was just buttery, caramely goodness. The apple pastry was good too. Their coffees are amazing! The danish and pistachio croissants were perfect. We also grabbed a chicken sandwich which kept us full all morning. A must visit if you are in the area!
