A Taste of India with a Quebec Flair Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Indian restaurant that offers a unique fusion of Indian flavors with a touch of Quebec. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, with an ambiance that effortlessly combined the vibrancy of India with the cozy charm of Quebec. The chef has truly outdone himself by replicating the diverse and rich culinary traditions from different parts of India. Each dish we tried was a delightful journey, showcasing the authentic flavors and spices of Indian cuisine while still being accessible and enjoyable for all palates. Even my friends who are not usually adventurous with food were thoroughly impressed and pleased with the taste. The menu is a fantastic blend of classic Indian dishes and creative twists that incorporate local Quebec ingredients. It's clear that the team put a lot of thought and effort into creating a dining experience that celebrates both cultures. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions we had and make recommendations based on our preferences. Kudos to the chef and the amazing team for creating such a memorable dining experience especially on a very special occasion for us. They even gave us a special dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you ☺️

We’ve been here twice and it was excellent both times. As others have mentioned, make sure that you get a reservation and that it is accepted. Our first time going, we made a reservation but apparently they didn’t accept it on their end. They still served us but looked a little annoyed about it. That said, the food is spectacular. We haven’t tried anything that wasn’t great so far. Last time we had the pork vindaloo, the duck, the mushroom tikka masala and the vada pav. Everything was delicious, but I’d especially recommend the duck, which was perfectly medium rare and came with a zesty sauce. The chai is also great here - heavily spiced and perfectly sweetened. Get the creme brûlée for dessert, it’s a fun show, and they do a wonderful job with the seasonal fruits. I deducted one star for service. Both times we have been here we have been seemingly forgotten for long periods of time. Last visit, we waited for half an hour after we finished dinner with dirty plates on the table until someone bussed it and took our dessert order. If they tighten this up, it would be an easy five stars for me.

This place was a pleasant surprise. We spent 5 days In Quebec City. We are vegetarian and Indian is our comfort food. This is the only place we tried for Indian food. We were discouraged with reviews of other Indian restaurants in the city. This place is actually a fusion of Indian and May be Iranian. We had plenty of other cuisine and Quebec City offers good vegetarian options. First, definitely make a reservation for this restaurant. The place is small and gets filled quickly. The service was excellent and food was delicious. We decided to go with chefs choice for dinner. It was served to us in 3 course meal. By the end of it, we had tried every vegetarian menu item. Pani poori and vada pav was surprisingly delicious. The best roti I have had in North America. It was made fresh right in front of us. Dough was also prepared in front of us from scratch. We ordered extra rotis. The bhartha was also fusion of sweet potatoes and zucchini. I would encourage more people to be open minded and give this place a try. You are in for a pleasant surprise. I can’t speak enough about this place.

I had a horrible experience in this restaurant you see me and my friend ( also male ) arrived 18 minutes earlier then reservation time. When we arrived, there was exactly four empty tables not to mention at least four or five spots over by the bar . in spite of that we were asked to leave cuz they had no available spots to seat us which would have been alright if the exact same 4 tables were not still empty when we returned on our reservations time. I decided to let that go and not let ruin it my night, the waiter then proceeded to ask a couple ( male and female ) that came in front of us at the time to set in one of those empty Tables (which is a table meant for 4 people and they were two ) while asking us (also 2 people ) to set in individual side to side spots over by the bar even though there was 3 empty tables (without asking if we prefer a table) . I was made to understand that this was because we were two guys and those other people were a couple (male and female ) so they cant set at the bar which personally I find to be discriminatory. Then they proceeded to seat an other couple that came in after us in a table ( for 4 ). so i asked nicely to be seated in a normal table . the waiter had us wait least 10 minutes to eventually move us to a normal table. what was the cherry on the top of this horrible dinning expérience was the waiter who stopped me on my way out with the audacity to ask why I didn't leave a tip and practically demanding that I do. when I explained the reasons he simply nodded "oh okay" without even apologizing. the fact that I was there with one of my male friends does not mean I should be treated any less and does not mean that any couple who is a man and a woman are more important than me and should be seated in a table instead of me when I arrived first and made reservations like anyone else. I am going to admit that the asain waiter was particularly nice in comparaison to the one that first talked to us. As for the food it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either it was just okay with an item menu where u pick items to make a plate Overall a horrible experience, I would not come back there and I would not recommend anyone else...

As someone who adores fusion food, I was excited to dine here. Unfortunately, I left deeply disappointed due to service issues and bland food.

Kundah Hôtel has a unique opportunity to add Indian flavours to Québécois ingredients, but everything missed the mark.

I wanted to like the Palak Perron—which replaces the traditional Indian paneer with cheese curds and was the best dish out of what we ordered—but it still tasted bland. The cheese curds were fresh and delicious, but the wonderful Indian flavours were missing. The tandoori cauliflower was OK, and the dal was not a dal at all but a tomato-ey curry situation.

Second, though we arrived 13 minutes early, the staff were quick to set a table for us while we waited for it to be time for our reservation. We wanted to sit in a half-booth instead of a high top. However, two different parties who arrived after us were seated and served before we were.

The restaurant staff cleaned their tables first and sat them down before us as well, so it was absolutely not a logistical/availability issue. Maybe it was discrimination because we are people of colour, but regardless of that, this does not meet the standards of fine dining. We ate and left quickly to instead eat at a different restaurant down the block.

I had high hopes for this restaurant because of the positive reviews and its spot on Michelin. But my experience left much to be desired, both in terms of service and food quality.

I would not recommend this restaurant, unless you want a sad, disappointing, quite literally whitewashed version of what good Indian fusion food should taste like. I never leave negative reviews. But in this situation, I think it’s important for future customers to be aware of these issues and not be duped...

When we checked in. We were surprised by not seeing any Indian chef. This set our tone from the beginning thinking how this could be an Indian restaurant. Sorry for having a prejudice here but I have not come across such setup. Then came the next disappointment as the server walked in with limited menu it was only 1 page and there were only few vegetarians and vegan dishes to choose from. We talked to ourselves let’s bailout may be just order few things like an appetizer and bounce to some other place. So we placed an order for “pakora” and “samosa chat”. Server asked me a question is that enough for three of you and I said yeah. Then comes the googly of our evening. The pakora was refreshing and chaat was with a twist the samosa was not like readymade that we generally get in all Indian restaurants, We were bowled over. We ordered everything that was on the menu as vegetarian and vegan. It was amazing experience. The flavor was rich and infused with creativity. They used many different produce to come up with Indian recipes that are very unique take for an example a gol gappa was total winner Palak was really good, Bharta was outstanding.

The tawa roti was very small and I could feel like I can have 15-20 off those.

It was wonderful experience to end our trip on happy note and belly full of good Indian food. God bless you guys keep up cooking good food. Next time when I come to Quebec I am going to see you guys without taking any chance. Au...
