Our Christmas day experience at this pub fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen needed 15 minutes to prepare the lunch menu, which we agreed to, but the service left much to be desired. Despite a promising start with a delightful Murphy beer, one of the glasses had remnants of dried lipstick, which we brought to their attention. Unfortunately, the response lacked acknowledgment or compensation.
Moreover, the wait for service extended as it took over 10 minutes for water and drinks to arrive. When we finally received our beers with a clean glass, the delay was notable. The disappointment continued with our order of the regular beef burger; it lacked the quality we anticipated, resembling a frozen grocery store patty.
Regrettably, these issues were compounded by the steep prices. The overall experience felt overpriced for the quality and service offered. For those visiting Quebec City, I'd recommend exploring the local small restaurants for a more enjoyable and authentic...

While they have everything you'd expect from a restaurant where Murphy's is the promenant name displayed everywhere, they also have a lot of items you wouldn't expect.
My wife and I were walking around for a while trying to figure out where to eat and finally decided in Murphy's as the wooden signs out front also mentioned of course, pizza.
We didn't expect to see such a varied menu or the fantastic performance from Rosemarie Gauthier. The music and the decor were key to the great vibe as we eventually noticed many of the seats were old church pews.
My wife had the pizza and I had the fish and chips. As you can see from the photos, it smelled so good and tasted so nice that we ate before taking photos which doesn't happen often. The pepperoni pizza's cheese was the perfect amount of chewy and melty while the fish and chips were crispy but not so heavy we couldn't eat anything later. As with many restaurants in the city, the service was fantastic, friendly...
Read moreWe were a party of 4. We ordered the chicken wings for starter which was good (would recommend), for entrees we ordered roasted chicken (was decent), salmon fillet (overcooked so will not recommend), fish and chips (too heavily battered and the batter was oily and soggy), veggie burger (good would recommend). Everything came with a very good portion of fries and house salad with dressing. The salmon also had a side of rice. The fries for the fish and chips were swapped for poutine. The poutine was not very good but all the other sides were really good. The fries and the salad with the dressing was super!!! On a whole the food was just average but the service was nice and prompt. But I would urge you to visit this establishment for its vibe. It was a pub so it was noisy but it was the noise of live music and people singing along to old classics being played and people cheering on for impromptu dancing!! Overall the experience was good!! Do visit this establishment...
