I don’t typically leave reviews but this is a special case. The restaurant itself has extremely poor atmosphere and is unreasonably small (almost elbow to elbow with other guests). The atmosphere consisted of a bike rack, street tree and old patio furniture. This was also a detriment as they allow dogs to sit on the patio, a very unhygienic practice (this was clearly no service animal). The server had no interest in our table and was absent the entire night following taking our order (probably the worst service I’ve ever had). We ordered simply to ensure we would be on time for later plans but we waited from 7:45pm- 9:30pm to receive our food. Once finished we waited another 20min before the plates were removed, at which time we had to take the bill as there was no time for dessert. The food itself was very good but the service and atmosphere are seriously lacking .

I love going to the restaurant and have tried most of Quebec city’s and Montreal’s best restaurants. I can easily say that Battuto is in the top 3 meals I’ve ever had! The food is simply amazing and the service is great. It’s also really nice to eat A+++ food in a laid back ambiance (it’s not a stuck up vibe like some restaurants). I literally dropped a tear of joy while eating as it was so good. This was the only time this has happened while eating and I simply could not keep the smile off of my face. Truly a memorable and wonderful experience! It’s also a really great quality/price, I was expecting the bill to be higher but it was quite reasonable! It’s a must-try in Quebec City, be sure to book several weeks in advance though as it is a small restaurant and it’s really popular. Longue vie au Battuto!

I love going to the restaurant and have tried most of Quebec city’s and Montreal’s best restaurants. I can easily say that Battuto is in the top 3 meals I’ve ever had! The food is simply amazing and the service is great. It’s also really nice to eat A+++ food in a laid back ambiance (it’s not a stuck up vibe like some restaurants). I literally dropped a tear of joy while eating as it was so good. This was the only time this has happened while eating and I simply could not keep the smile off of my face. Truly a memorable and wonderful experience! It’s also a really great quality/price, I was expecting the bill to be higher but it was quite reasonable! Nous avons récemment tenté de réserver une table au restaurant Battuto pour une fin de semaine en amoureux et notre expérience a été extrêmement décevante. Après avoir réservé en ligne et saisi les informations de carte de crédit, nous pensions avoir eu la chance de pouvoir enfin goûter à ce restaurant prestigieux et très recherché.

Quelle erreur! Nous avons fait le déplacement jusqu'à Québec, seulement pour découvrir que notre réservation n'avait pas été enregistrée. Après de nombreux appels, impossible d’avoir un service au téléphone. C’est par Messenger qu'on nous a alors dit que nous n'avions probablement pas complété le processus de confirmation au complet, que nous avions oublié deux étapes supplémentaires. Cela a laissé ma conjointe très déçue et pleine de doutes. Elle avait pourtant réservé des dizaines de restaurants dans sa vie, comment avait-elle pu manquer des étapes ? Mais bon, l’erreur est humaine et nous nous sommes dit que la prochaine fois, nous porterions attention à ces étapes manquantes.

Nous avons réessayé de réserver le 29 juin en suivant exactement le même processus, mais encore une fois, nous n'avons reçu aucune confirmation et la réservation n'a pas été enregistrée. De plus, il n’y avait aucune étape supplémentaire ; nous avions bien fait ça la première fois, le problème ne venait donc pas de nous. Nous avons contacté le restaurant par Messenger pour signaler le problème et demander une explication.

J’ai trop de respect pour les restaurateurs pour aller mettre des avis négatifs sans leur offrir la possibilité de s’ajuster, de s’excuser ou de rectifier la situation. Nous avons finalement reçu une réponse qui semblait quelque peu arrogante et ne proposait aucune solution concrète à notre problème et aucune excuse, ce qui ajoute à notre déception. Les restaurateurs préfèrent voir notre intention d'utiliser les sites d'évaluations comme une menace plutôt qu'un moyen légitime d'exprimer notre déception. C'est pourtant chose parfaitement courante et légitime de nos jours.

Après avoir examiné les commentaires d'autres clients, il est clair que ce problème est récurrent et persiste depuis plusieurs mois. D'autres personnes ont vécu la même situation. Cela montre que le restaurant est conscient du problème mais choisit de l'ignorer. Ce manque de réactivité et de fiabilité est inacceptable pour un établissement de cette renommée.

C'est comme si les clients sont laissés à eux-mêmes, sans aucun soutien en cas de problème. Le restaurant semble se reposer sur sa popularité sans se soucier de l'expérience client. Ceux qui réussissent à obtenir une réservation doivent être comblés, et j'imagine, en lisant les commentaires, que la nourriture et le service sont excellents. Cependant, si vous rencontrez des problèmes, que ce soit avec le système de réservation ou d'autres aspects, sachez que ce restaurant risque de ne pas porter attention à vos préoccupations.

Ce qui est particulièrement frustrant, c'est que ce restaurant ouvre ses réservations pour plusieurs mois d'un coup, sachant très bien qu'en dix minutes tout sera réservé. Nous avons des vies de famille, nous devons nous organiser pour être disponibles au moment précis où les réservations s'ouvrent. Nous mettons une alarme, nous nous arrêtons sur l’heure du dîner en plein brouhaha familial un samedi pour essayer de dépenser notre argent durement gagné dans ce qui promet d'être une excellente expérience culinaire. Et malgré tout cela, lorsque le système ne fonctionne pas, nous n'avons même pas droit au respect d'une réponse empathique et respectueuse, mais plutôt à une réponse arrogante.

Le restaurant marche bien en ce moment grâce à sa popularité, mais s'ils continuent à ignorer les retours négatifs et les problèmes, cela pourrait leur nuire à long terme. Espérons qu'ils améliorent leur système et leur service client avant que cela ne devienne un problème plus grave. J'aurai peut-être la chance un jour de changer cette critique, si seulement je pouvais réussir à obtenir une place à l'aide d'un système de réservation...

I visited this restaurant on October 18th 2019 by myself, and reserved my spot 2 months in advance. I can’t express In words just how much I enjoyed the entire experience demonstrated in this space.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an abundance of friendliness rapport. Amélie was a remarkable waitress behind the bar counter and never was without a smile. Guillaume was one of the owners who was behind the counter cooking and preparing the food effortlessly.

I first started out with the arancini followed by the chicken liver parfait with marinated mushrooms and walnut oil ending with the bucatini rabbit ragu, pancetta, white wine, tomato and basil. No words...... my taste buds literally fell off my tongue dancing to a song of their own. Exquisite, simple, and defined are the best adjectives to describe the cuisine I experienced.

My culinary evening came to an end when I finished off with the crostata dessert. WOW!

I was sad I had to experience this culinary celebration alone but rest assured I will return so I can relive this experience with my partner. Keep on doing what...
