Deplorable service.
I went to take my daughter and mother out for their birthdays tonight. I have dietary restrictions and can’t consume pork products. Majority of the items on the menu have bacon. I simply asked for the bacon to be removed from my meal. I ordered the four cheese pasta with the honey pepper chicken.
The server had informed me that the bacon was in the pasta sauce but they would sub the cheese sauce for an Alfredo and everything would be good. I’m unsure if she didn’t know there is also bacon in the honey sauce or if it was intentional at that point based on how each staff member responded.
The food arrived and I took a bite of the pasta it was fine, I looked at the chicken and it looked like there was chunks of bacon all over it. At first I tried to brush it off , thinking it could just be the fried coating but after eating a bite the taste is so distinct I knew it was pork/bacon. I asked my both mother and daughter to both try it before I called the server over to inquire. She grabbed the plate took it back to the kitchen and came back with the manager who was absolutely outrageous.
She had told me that it was fried onion and definitely not bacon.. and that I should “trust her” because she doesn’t eat bacon either… She then had another staff member come to pick through my food and assure me, and had the audacity to try to hand it back to me. She did not apologize, offer to substitute the meal with something else or even discount the other meals I paid for.
Even a simple, “I am sorry, can we get you something else” would have sufficed. I would have paid for both of the plates even. Being gas light, after two other people had also tasted the bacon was absolutely out of this world to me.
I paid my bill in full and left hungry.
Dietary restrictions are SO important to be followed, if it had been severe shellfish or peanut allergy I could have died!!!
Shame on the staff and manager here! I will be calling...

My partner and I, who are both visibly LGBTQ+ and we’re wearing trans flag shirts went on Saturday evening for a quick meal. When we arrived it was almost two hours before closing and there were a few tables full of people and several staff members checking on guests. More than one looked directly at us but rather than seating us, they went to the back of the dining area to stand together and ignore us. It was several minutes before someone who I assume to be a supervisor came out of the kitchen and seated us. There were no apologies for the wait or even a polite greeting from him, and we were seated as far from the other guests as possible. Despite at least five staff members walking past our table over the next several minutes, no one came to ask for a drink order. However, a family came inside after us and was immediately greeted with smiles and seated, and their orders were taken right away. My partner had used the washroom and when coming back was glared at by at least one server who was standing near the kitchen, and heard several of them complaining about having to seat people. We left after quite a while of this, and we were still not acknowledged at our table at any point, despite the servers making several rounds of the restaurant to...

I ordered the chicken wonton tacos, the shrimp wonton stir-fry and the brownie dessert. The food was tasty, well prepared and fast, although we arrived slightly before 5 pm, so it wasn't that busy.
The tacos were messy, and lacking chicken, but tasted very good. You only get three instead of the four you get with a regular order, but that was ok with me.
The stir-fry was also good - fresh broccoli, mushrooms, red peppers, snap peas, plenty of shrimp and a choice of sauce - teriyaki or sweet chili. I chose the sweet chili and it was just the right amount of heat for the dish.
The brownie was just a small wedge, with what looked like a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream, but it was hot, sticky and chewy, just like a brownie should be, and was just the right end to not be over full.
All in all, an excellent meal. Our server was attentive, insisting our dining companions take their desserts to go as they were included in the meal.
We seem to have a consistently good dining experience at the Quance St location, and this was no exception; we will...
