I visit this place once a month due to a group meet-up. It's in a very convenient location, and there is a large room available to reserve for large groups, however the food is very inconsistent and over-priced for what you're given. The service is sometimes hit and miss - depending on the individual. Perhaps it's a case of not having adequate staff on hand?
The last time I visited (April 4th), I ordered the BLTC salad. I've seen others order this in the past, and they've always said it was good; so I'm assuming this is a one-off, but it was quite disgusting. Two others in the group also ordered the same thing, and had very similar complaints. The chicken was chewy - I assume it was under-cooked. The tomatoes were not fresh, but soggy. Whatever sauce they had on was lazily over-poured. Every inch was covered in this terrible thick, creamy sauce, that had no characteristics of being a Dijon dressing. It kind of tasted like mayonnaise.
After tasting the first piece of chicken, I picked through about a quarter of it, and left it to be thrown out. I didn't complain to the waiter working that evening, as he already seemed somewhat stressed out (although he was very friendly, and tried very hard to keep up with his tables). After we left I immediately went home and felt ill and ended up sick to my stomach.
The next day I received a message from one of the other people who also had the same salad and she relayed she also had gotten sick. She ended up messaging the manager who advised he'd make it up to us the next time we went in, but at this point if I do go back (for the group) I doubt I will be ordering anything other than a drink.
Also - another lady in our group received a salad and asked for olive oil and vinegar on the side as her dressing. She was given a bottle but the olive oil was rancid. She was promptly given a little container of olive oil and was told it was different, but she advised it...
Read moreService was ok, but the food was Terrible. I have worked in food and beverage for 25yrs. Everything was burnt tasting The mashed tasted like the potatoes were burned to the bottom of the pot which flavoured the water they were cooking in and thus the end product. The "12oz Prime Rib" I ordered was not 12oz, and had at least 3oz of fat on it. It was supposed to be Medium Rare, but it was brown all the way through. The veggies tasted burnt, and had burnt flecks all over them. The gravy for my daughter's fries tasted burnt and was thick and lumpy, the fries had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. My daughter said her burger tasted good.
Our server was friendly, but when she checked back she did so while she was walking by. Stop and act like you care. We haven't come back here for a few years because the food and service was so bad, but we thought we would give it another chance. When we pulled up just after 5pm on a Friday night and we were the only vehicle in the parking lot, that should have told us what to expect, but we wanted to give it a chance. Me, my wife, and our youngest daughter. 2 prime rib dinners, I cheese burger with bacon and with tax and tip, over $98. We could have gone to the Keg and enjoyed our meal. You need to up your game. We go out a lot a give our business to the other many great establishments in the neighborhood. Tell the kitchen staff to slow down, turn the heat down a bit on everything so it doesn't burn, and never cook prime rib past Medium Rare. If we weren't so busy, and hungry from not having time to eat all day. We would have left the meal on the table. We lived in Alberta for 7 years and loved our Ricky's there, not sure why we are having such bad luck...
Read moreFirst time visit for lunch for 2. First of all, this establishment looks clean, the surroundings looked nice and well kept. We were seated promptly, by a young woman who looked to be the only member of the serving staff, we saw no one else in the front of house during our visit. Our drink order was taken, the beverages were delivered to the table in about 5 minutes time. Water had no ice. Order was taken, a mushroom burger and fish and shrimp combo. Approximately 1/2 hour later, meal arrived with no mushrooms on the burger and quite lukewarm fries to accompany both meals. My husband liked how his burger tasted, my combo was tasty. The coleslaw was very sweet? The server did not return to the table to inquire about our meals until we were just finishing eating, where we informed her of the lack of mushrooms and to please remove them from the bill. She apologized, disappeared into the back and we didn't see her again until we stood at the front for 5 minutes waiting to pay our bill. I wondered if she was doing the dishes or something in the kitchen that occupied her for such a long time. If so, this company should do themselves a service and hire staff for back of house so front staff can concentrate better on their customers needs. If we were the dining and dashing type, we would have been half way home before they even noticed we were gone, and we live 100 kms away!! With all the restaurant and dining options available in the city, you really have to WOW us the first time we visit, to gain our repeat visits and dollars. We weren't that...
