We brought our kids here for their first hibachi experience. We arrived quite early (around 4:45) and weren't sure what to think. There were no other customers and it's not a fancy place on the outside, but when we went inside we were pleasantly suprised. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very friendly. My kids were a little put off by the limited options and the fact that we all received soup, salad, vegetables and green tea (gasp!), but that's simply because they're picky. Haha But even though they didn't eat everything they were served my son (surprisingly) loved the egg drop soup, and my daughter said it was the best shrimp she ever had. They quickly forgot their dismays about the food options when the chef came out and did his thing. They were in awe of his skills and loved the "show". My six year old was a little frightened of the big flames and it took some time to settle him down, but after he saw it for a second time and knew what to expect he decided it was pretty cool. :) My husband and I really enjoyed the food, the staff was very friendly and the service was great. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because it looks a bit dodgy from the exterior (which perhaps adds to the charm?), but it's not as " fancy" as the prices would reflect. But we were happy to have a cool place that catered to kids. Just wanted to be clear that if you're looking for a special "fancy" place for a date night or something that there were a few families with kids. It's possible they would seat you in a different area if they knew you were out for a special night, I just didn't pay that close of attention to that.

The chef is really really friendly and the prefomance is amaaaaaazing! Especially when the chef cook the food with fire is classic! Highly recommended for the prefomance! But the waitress seems like rushing us out. .......We finished our food quickly... not a fun experience...but still thanks for her serivce. It is a good restaurant but I won't go there again. Thanks again.

i usually don’t make complaints at all and am fairly level headed and understanding when it comes to customer service. last night mar 16, i had a reservation for 12-14 ppl for 7 pm at which we started showing up 15 min early, which seems reasonable. (we ended up only having 13). after waiting over half an hour past our reservation we were placed in a room with 2 other parties, that were served first i believe we received 1 round of drinks in the 1.5 hours we sat and watched them get fed and watered and then pay before we were acknowledged again. we finally had our order taken and had to ask ourselves if we can have another round of drinks (which half of us were not drinking alcohol) (one being pregnant, 1 a child and the other half being responsible bc they were driving). then 3 of our party gets their meals with no rice offered as the regular starter. and they eat their whole meal in front of the other 10 of us. one cook at this time. then a second cook comes and cooks for the other 10.... the ration of vegetables that were given was half the amount at best and one of this party was missed so i can imagine how little we would have been given had all 10 of us had been given the portion that was dealt out for us. when a couple complaints were said, not one apology was said ‘just we r very busy’ and yes i understand busy but as i walked around, we were the only large group left out of that busy time at 930 pm! and for the complaint some sake was what we were given! considering over half our table wasn’t even drinking! we were there for over 3 hours with half an hour of cooking and eating time where our table was getting cleaned up as i was still eating my rice (that is part of the starter!) to top it all off the bills came to us incorrect 2 times! not once was a discount offered not an apology! i have never been so disappointed in a place. and i have been coming yearly and raving about tepanyaki but after last night i doubt i’ll...

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Friends wanted to celebrate their 45th anniversary with something different. We suggested Tapenyaki. We arrive a few minutes early and are seated in the centre of the restaurant ( we have always had a room). Were thinking this is nice , good service so far. Not, we sat there for forty minutes no service, no water no acknowledgement that we even existed. At 6:30 four other people are seated which completed our table of ten. Ten minutes later some dude shows up and takes our drink order which takes another fifteen minutes to fill. It became apparent the wait had been for the other four people. Which is fine but you could have at the very least offered us water while we waited. The steak was tough and the lobster was chewey. We froze while there because the cold and wind and people constantly opening the door. At the table in the centre of the restaurant you have no privacy. The people waiting forever to get their table are right next to. Young kids wander past the fish aquarium with parents trying to coral them which is the only thing between where we were seated and the twenty people waiting for the next room. We had random strangers standing behind invading our privacy while they watch the cook. Kids trying to squeeze behind to watch the fish. We won’t be back. We have had better meals and service at those Japanese food places in the food courts and with all the people standing all around the atmosphere is the same as being at the mall. The garden vegetable was a total rip off. By the time the chef dealt out the food the last three people which included me were ripped off. I got sprouts and one little chunk of asparagus, no onion no mushroom just sprouts and an asparagus chunk Worst of all was it was our suggestion and our friends 45 anniversary supper was horrible L...
