CAUTION ABOUT ORDERING THEIR BEEF MENU EXTREMELY SMALL PORTION SIZES ABOUT THE SIZE OF A LARGE FRIES SURPREME FROM TACO BELL IS THE LARGEST YOU WILL GET FROM ANY OF THEIR BEEF MENU ITEMS* SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE** absolutely horrifying experience. I saved my stomach all day because my gym buddies planned to go here tonight. well I went STARVING and let me just say beforeh and that I've lived about 200 metres from this place for about 16 years and I've never been in my life. well I finally went and to my demise, it was a terrible experience. first I thought it was buffet. we went at about 10pm. there was about 20 tables set up professionally, with NOBODY there. you could hear crickets. that was the first bad signal that really gave me a negative vibe and made me feel sketchy. next took us about 20 minutes to decide as they only have about 20 different dishes, except with a different meat for each dish. so equals like 80 dishes. but its not really true. it was hard to order because I wanted a bit of everything like they do at all you can eat or dynasty around the corner for cheaper prices but they only let you do like one measly thing for 15 bucks. its definately not like quick chinese fast food where you pay 10 bucks and get to choose 2 meat and 2 vege. its one single item for 15 fricken bucks. and the portion is about 1 of the 4 you would get at these easier fast food places. mind you this isnt fast food, but the actual food is fast food quality, as in its NOT THAT GOOD FOR A RESTARAUNT. and thats why its being compared to fast food places. I ended up ordering something that I thought was 16.95 and when it came, I was really really angry because the portion was extremely small!!! we can say the portion was the size of about a large fries supreme from taco bell, and it was the beef in ginger pineapple. I made sure the lady knew, and she said I wouldn't be allowed to return it. she said that's the size and there's nothing she can do about it. she reassured me it was actually 13.95 and not 16.95. I felt silly but still, even for 13.95, this is not worth the price. at most it was worth 6.50 for what I got. they gave me about a quarter of total of what you would pay 15 bucks for at manchu wok or any other fast chinese food place. it made me so upset that I had to come and write this. it felt like being mocked because I'm a big man. I could easily go spend my money elsewhere. which from now on im doing. they didn't tell me my drink was 2.50 either until I got my bill. bill total was 18.59 after tax plus me being a gentlemen always gives a 5 dollar tip to the server. 23 bucks WASTED tonight. Thanks for an upsetting night and a aching back now because I did not get my calorie intake for the day. not even close. missing about 2500 thanks to you guys. absolutely bull. I give everybody going to this place CAUTION about ordering their beef menu. they BARELY GIVE YOU ANY PORTION. my friend paid 16 dollars for what I got in beef PLUS noodles, as he ordered from the noddle menu that was a ''beef topped noodle'' well his noodles had the SAME amount of beef on it that my order had of ONLY BEEF that I paid total after tax 16 dollars for!!! total bull! I paid the same price as him, got the same amount of beef but NO NOODLES basically. just a totally bad...
Read moreI visited this restaurant for lunch on Thanksgiving Day, and I must say, my experience was quite disappointing compared to other Chinese and Hong Kong-style restaurants I’ve frequented. Upon arrival, the restaurant was packed, and we were seated at a table near the door. Unfortunately, this location was less than ideal, as every time someone opened the door, a cold gust of wind would sweep in, making it uncomfortable even with our jackets on. It was hard to enjoy our meal in such a chilly environment.
The service was another letdown. It felt like the staff were more attentive to their regular customers, while we were largely ignored. Our orders were forgotten, and we noticed that tables that arrived after us were served promptly. This inconsistency in service was frustrating. One staff member, in particular—a slim lady with a bob haircut —had a notably cold and snarky demeanor. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome, which detracted from the overall dining experience. In contrast, Suki and another waitress were friendly and accommodating, which was a small relief amidst the otherwise lackluster service.
As for the food, I ordered the baked pork chop with spaghetti, and I was quite underwhelmed. The dish was mediocre at best. While the portion was generous in terms of the pork chop, it was filled with fatty meat and bones, making it difficult to enjoy. The spaghetti was overshadowed by the heavy pork chop, and the overall flavor was lacking. As someone with a low spice tolerance, I found the dish to be unexpectedly spicy, which left me panting and reaching for more water and milk tea. Unfortunately, we hadn’t even received our bill yet, and I was already feeling lightheaded and dizzy from the heat.
The total bill for three people came to around $60-$65, which isn’t unreasonable, but given the quality of the food and service, I felt it was not worth it. The washroom facilities were average, with only two stalls available, and I found the faucet placement to be inconvenient, as it was positioned to the side, making it awkward to use.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was disappointing, and I wouldn’t choose to return. There are definitely better options for Chinese and Hong Kong-style cuisine that offer both better food...

Sadly, his favourite dish, the Peking chicken ($13.95), was the worst of the meal. It’s an item that doesn’t travel well, not because it becomes soggy – typically, it’s not crispy anyways, since it’s slathered in a thick sweet sauce – but rather because it’s made from lean chicken breast that’s cut into thick chunks, which after being sealed in a hot container for half an hour becomes SO overdone. My suggestion to COTO is consider cutting these thinner so that even overcooked they’re not quite as tough.
Not being a fan of things like lemon chicken, the orange beef ($13.50) had the same repulsive citrusy meat taste I detest. Nonetheless, I tried a piece and once the fruity flavour subsided, the spicy savoury sauce that was left behind was actually quite tasty.
Give me the beef with Chinese broccoli ($13.50) any day! Wok tossed with some oyster sauce, the dish doesn’t taste like it’s mixed with dish soap and there’s so much of the tender gai lan crammed into the container.
Unlike chow mein, the noodles in the mixed vegetables lo mein ($11.95) are left soft, which you would think is better for delivery. Except, it gets so soft that the dish has no texture at all. Thankfully, we had gotten an order of moo shu pork and the leftover filling went perfectly with the noodles, adding crunch and extra flavours that the lo mein was lacking.
COTO provides four large pancakes with their moo shu pork ($11.95) - you can really stuff these to the brim. Nonetheless, there was plenty of the wok hay laced filling leftover, a delicious addition to other dishes like the lo mein and fried rice.
Despite the chicken fried rice ($8.50) being such a rich hue, the soy taste was rather weak. On its own the dish is too bland, but considering it’s generally eaten in lieu of steamed rice, I can see why it’s left neutral so that it doesn’t become too salty once you add saucy...
