APRIL SWEETS — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

UPDATE February 2022: We now go get treats from here on a monthly basis (we call it our sweets treat), and we cannot say enough great things about this place. The reason why I am updating is because we had the 4 pack Dessert Cup and I can't wait for my birthday to get an OREAO cake !! All 4 cups were amazing, we split each cup and literally couldn't resist the cupcakes before checking out.

I tell everyone about this place, its sweet and delicate without being to light. It always has rich and amazing flavours and you can tell they use quality ingredients.

THE PRESENTATION always looks like you can show it at any event, even thought we just eat it at home in pjs and watch a movie you feel like you are at a fancy event.

Never had bad service and have never been disappointed by anything we have tried from here - always amazing !!!! Below is from 11 Months ago - March 2021: We found April Sweets just after it opened and have been finding reasons to order something from them ever since! Everything is very aesthetic and tastes better than it looks, if we could eat the packaging we would. The staff are professional, dependable and always warm and welcoming.

Just today we ordered the Strawberry Matcha Volcano (just because we were craving something new to try) with two Tiramisu coffees (the perfect blend of Arabica and Robusta - I asked because I just had to know!) It never is a disappointment, everything is so fresh, fluffy, never to sweet and is beautiful - without a doubt an amazing experience every time.

The cakes also make an amazing gift, we always volunteer to bring desert or get the cake - we all look forward to this part of the meal or celebration. They make it special and the customizations are always better than you expected - its like they can see your vision. I always wanna try April sweets because it has very good reputation and I never got a chance because it’s little bit far from my place. Recently I found it on Too good to go app and was excited to reserve a spot for their leftovers. The pick up time is between 6 and 7. I checked my phone during the day to make sure if the order got canceled (I just had a cancellation experience from other store). I left home around 5:30pm as mentioned I live a little far from the store. When I got there at 6:07pm, I realized my order has been canceled and the email was sent out at 5:25pm. The staff told me there’s not enough leftover for me to pick up so they canceled order. And I said I drove a long way and I missed your message while I was driving. The cancellation notice is too short! The staff said platform allowed them to cancel the order before 6pm and if I want to buy cupcake, it’s $4 plus tax. I feel so upset and disappointed with service. My enthusiasm to try the new cake is totally gone. I understand the tgtg deal is a bargain and with the low price i’m going to pay, I’m willing to take the risk of the “surprise”. Just a warning with my bad experience: checking your email all day until the pick up time because they can claim they don’t have “leftovers” while they have quite a few items for sale and literally cancel your order 1 minute before...

What a beautifully decorated cake! April Sweets honestly made my event for my daughter's birthday even more special. I chose a LOL Surprise 2 Tier cake to match our theme and it was much more than what I expected. They were able to accommodate customization as my daughter wanted to add macaroons to the cake. The cake had great detail and the amount of effort and love that went into it was amazing. It also tastes GREAT! I hate cakes that are overly sweet and this cake was just perfect. The top tier had vanilla and the bottom was chocolate which gave great options for my guests. They also gave little mini plastic plates and a plastic knife to cut the cake so in case you forget to grab these items for your party, you wouldn't have to worry cause they have you covered. The cake also comes in a see through box making it easy to travel with and also perfect for display purposes. The ordering process was also nice and easy and KIKI was great in answering my e-mails and etc. right away! I highly recommend this bakery. They will surpass your needs and more! Thank you again...
