Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 4 Stars Overall: 4 Stars Note: CASH ONLY Hug Sushi is our go-to spot for takeout, and it consistently delivers excellent quality. We usually order here for our casual family dinners, and the experience has been consistently positive. The prices are reasonable, and the sushi is always fresh, which is a big plus. The portions are generous, ensuring that we get great value for our money. The staff at Hug Sushi are always prompt and friendly when taking our orders, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. The variety on the menu caters to different tastes, and we've enjoyed trying out new items alongside our favourites. Whether it's a simple salmon roll or a more elaborate sushi platter, everything is prepared with care. There was one instance where our order was slightly delayed, but the staff handled it courteously and made sure we were updated on the status. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction are commendable. Additionally, the packaging for takeout orders is done thoughtfully to keep the sushi fresh and intact. In summary, Hug Sushi offers a great combination of quality, price, and service. The fresh ingredients, good portion sizes, and friendly staff make it a standout choice for sushi lovers. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for fresh and affordable sushi in the area. kellychan360

Personally, I feel there's a lot of trust that goes into trying a new sushi place as handling is very important with all the raw products being served. Does anyone feel the same? With that being said, I recently gave Hug Sushi a try for the first time after seeing all the positive reviews on Instagram and was quite happy. As you can see, presentation looked pretty good. Overall, the contents tasted fresh, portions were fair, and variety was satisfying as well for the 40 pcs ($28.50, with the current 10% off). The ratio of fish-to-rice was also pretty good. One of my favorite things was the spicy-ness of their spicy mayo! My favorite roll is spicy salmon so this is crucial for me personally. Delicious. Improvements? Would have liked the maki to be more tightly rolled and since they don't use tempura bits for the crunchy topping, instead they use crunch "puffs", they got soggy and lost their texture. Still doesn't beat my favorite sushi takeout spot (Ai Sushi) when factoring all of the quality, freshness, and price... But it's comparable and I'd visit again due to its relative closeness to my house, whereas Ai Sushi is quite the drive. Follow me on Instagram @oh.snap.vonny for more food reviews and photos!

We have been coming here for years. We took a break a year ago when we felt like their quality deteriorated. We tried it again last week and it was absolutely amazing. We ordered the 80 piece roll tray and we were not disappointed. They have a new menu and have increased their prices, but we don't mind because their excellent quality is back. This is a take-out only hole in the wall place that only takes cash for their platters even though they charge tax. I think it's ridiculous to demand only cash and still charge tax. Update: went back there today and was very annoyed that they told me my order would be ready in 30 min and I had to wait there for an extra fifteen minutes. I typically wouldn't mind, but there's no place to sit and there were a tonne of smokers outside their door. After this inconvenience, I discovered the food has returned to being subpar. I suggest you buy your sushi from the other sushi place in the plaza.

Hug sushi - Toronto. Richmond hill.

Stumbled upon this take out place. I regret visiting due to my poor experience. This tiny take out place blocks you off to a tiny take out window which barely has enough room for 2 people if more, forget about it. I end up ordering a head of time and had to pay in store which isn’t a big deal. When I got there I was asked - cash or debit card? I only had credit card yet I was asked again the same question a second time but in a threatening tone. I couldn’t been more clearer that I only had a credit card. (Truth be told I was ready to walk out.) they ended up making an exception for this time yet next time was ask to pay cash/debit card. Your website does not state that you’re limited to certain payment types, no need to threaten or lie that you can take credit card as payment. It’s absolutely baffling how the type of payment was an issue when I was ready to walk out and on the business end they didn’t want to pay the credit card fee. Like damn great way of getting business from your customers. You don’t want to do business with me, no problem. Might want to re-learn how to attract and do business...
