Service is very good. Food is okay. We're unlikely to return. Kitano is a good place to grab a quick staple selection of sushi. Service is prompt. You can order, eat and pay for your complete meal in under thirty minutes. Undersized tables and chairs complete with utilitarian decor won't entice you to extend your stay in the restaurant any longer. Do not consider this place for a romantic dinner date. Items that we ordered generally had mushy texture with simplistic taste decorated by a splash of spicy mayo or not-sufficiently-infused black sesame sauce. Tuna tower looked spectacular in the menu photo. Actual presentation mostly disappointed and it really was a complete let down in taste and flavour. It was just a piled cylindrical assembly of bland pieces of left over cuts of salmon and tuna dispersed with very pretty pieces of avocado. Maki rolls were alright. Nothing special in the taste department. The "big" roll variety of their Maki is too awkward to eat. I had to stuff my face in a single bite to make sure a piece of maki doesn't go through unintended rapid disassembly all over our table. I'm of a strong opinion that it's not necessary to follow craze du jour with oversized maki rolls to get a trendy status. Oh yeah, last thing to mention, the owners got to figure out a way to handle their waste management better. Their rear parking lot reaks with stench of rotten salmon carcases. Way too close to the restaurant entrance for comfort.

Fantastic first experience at Kitano Sushi. My boyfriend and I had the day off and decided to try Kitano, as we had driven past it many times. Turns out that today was their official opening! We ordered the Red Dragon ($13), Sushi & Sashimi Lunch ($14), and two Spicy Salmon Hand Rolls ($6.50 each). The Red Dragon roll had HUGE pieces, and there was a good balance of rice, salmon and avocado. This was the same as the hand rolls. Other sushi restaurants I've been too either have way too much rice vs fish in hand rolls, or they have a small amount of rice & fish so the hand roll is mainly seaweed. Kitano's Hand Rolls were filled to the top and had a good balance of rice and spicy salmon (which had a nice kick to it!). The seaweed was also crisp while being not too hard to bite through. The hand rolls were not listed on the menu, however we were told when we asked that any of the maki rolls could be made into hand rolls. The Sushi & Sashimi lunch was also fantastic! Everything was super fresh, the pieces were a good size, and presentation was great. Overall, pricing was comparable to other restaurants. Quality was great, everything tasted fantastic and it was an enjoyable lunch. Even the service was fantastic. The servers were super attentive, extremely friendly and very helpful. It was a fantastic first experience at Kitano Sushi and I will definitely be back (especially since it's so close to home!). 10/10.

We recently visited Kitano Sushi on Yonge Street, and it was a great experience. The restaurant is right on the corner, so it’s easy to find and get to. There’s also lots of free parking, which made things really convenient. The restaurant’s design is simple and nice, and you can see into the kitchen while they prepare the food. This made the experience feel more personal and fun. We were a group of 15 people, including 7 kids, and the customer service was excellent. Our waitress was patient and kind, even though the kids were loud and kept asking for things. She took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude made the meal even better. The food was delicious and just as good as more famous sushi places but for a much lower price. We were surprised by how affordable the meal was for the quality we received. The restaurant gave us a room with four tables, which fit our group perfectly. It felt private, and we were comfortable the whole time. Overall, Kitano Sushi was a wonderful experience. The great food, friendly service, and good prices make it a place we’ll definitely visit again. Highly recommend!

I was one of the first few customers to eat at Kitano Sushi as I was highly anticipating and waiting for their grand opening. I was going to wait a little while before leaving my review but I am leaving my 5 star review now to make up for the inconsiderate salty buffoons who left a one star review for the most ridiculous reasons. These are people who have no regard for how hard it is to open up a brand new restaurant and try to cater and accomodate everyone.

On to the review, I came in on the first day and ordered a 36 piece sushi + Maki takeout to get a taste of everything and I was definitely not disappointed. What I really love is that Kitano offers a mid-sized platter of sushi and Maki (around 30-35 pieces) while most places don't. Usually most sushi places will offer 10, 15, 20 pieces and then jump to 50+. As for the person who said their prices are "20% - 40%" higher than everywhere else, don't listen to him/her, they're trolling or blind. Just look and compare the prices yourself and you'll realize that you are paying roughly the same price for the quality you are getting. Sure you can go to Senbazaru and pay a little less, but you're also getting horrid sashimi. At Kitano the sashimi literally melts in your mouth.

This area desperately needed a sushi joint and I pray that Kitano is the answer to that need. The food preparation was fast, service was great, staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back with friends and family and highly recommend this place. I urge everyone in the area to try out Kitano sushi while keeping in mind that they JUST opened up and are learning, and trying to improve and cater to everyone.

With that said, I hope that the quality remains constant and does not shift or go down with time, I will not hesitate to change my review if necessary in the future. Please keep up the good work and high quality of food at Kitano Sushi, the Sushi savior...
