A new breakfast/brunch spot in the area with a lot of potential! They just have a few ticket items to work out.
Let's start with the positives: The servers, young and perhaps just starting to gain experience in the food service industry, were very polite and helpful. They made us patrons feel welcome, answered questions, and tried to be as accommodating as possible despite the breakfast rush. Overall, the portions are quite generous. I had gone with one other person. We were looking for something fairly light for breakfast. Glancing over at our neighbours' platters, we decided one dish to split would be ample for us (we got the smoked salmon eggs benny)...and we were right! The atmosphere is ambient and cozy. I suspect, with the success they're already receiving, that they will need to expand locations! Generally speaking, the food was well made and flavourful. Their potatoes had, seemingly, a veeeery light coating of batter, which made them crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Well done!
Some areas of improvement that I noticed: They add very little Hollandaise on the eggs benedict. It seemed as if our eggs were only lightly brushed with sauce. The table next to us had to ask for more on the side. Not the most pressing issue, but all drinks are served in paper or plastic cups. This would make sense if patrons were ordering to go, but for in-house dining, it seems peculiar, given that all the other dishes are, well, ceramic. It might be a good investment to offer mugs and glasses at the table. (to be fair, the servers are new to their roles) they don't bring out everyone's food and drinks at the same time. (again, to be fair, I don't think they were expecting to be as popular as they were, and likely weren't sure how to approach the sudden rush of patrons) the wait time for parties larger than 2 can be a bit long. We, a party of 2, were seated about half an hour before another group of 3 on a waitlist, who had gotten there just before us. This seems largely due to lack of space, but a better seating and reservation plan might be helpful for future breakfast rushes. (chalking this up to first-time experience in the food service industry) Our table wasn't "fully" cleared before we sat down. They wiped the table down, but they had left the - unused but likely still handled - utensils from the previous diners on the table.
Overall, a solid start to a homegrown business. Just a few kinks to work out. They certainly are gaining a well-deserved positive reputation. In a few months, when they find their footing, I suspect they will be one of the more popular...

Pros: yummy mint/lemon infused water friendly hostess who sat us prices are fair
Cons: Got their signature dish, which was the pulled pork Benny. The pulled pork had far too much black pepper - an overpowering amount, and not enough balance between sweet and tangy. Breakfast potatoes unseasoned. The water was served in a plastic cup, which seems like a wasteful practice. The restaurant itself is very noisy due to the space and acoustics. Windows, doors, walls, and bathroom appeared dirty and dingy. Service pretty non-existent - no one asked how our food was, didn’t bring any hot sauce when asked in the beginning, never refilled waters.
Suggestion: improve customer service to a basic level, serve water and coffee in real glasses/cups, review menu items and have the chef incorporate feedback, and pay attention to details like clean windows, walls, and bathrooms. I think these items have been mentioned in other reviews on Google. Opening a restaurant is not without risk and takes guts, so I hope you incorporate the Voice of the Customer to ensure the longevity and success of...
Read moreQuaint new brunch place in Oak Ridges, a much needed presence for breakfast in the area. There’s only one other brunch place nearby down the road.
I ordered the Fancy Full English breakfast, expecting a proper English breakfast with beans, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes, bacon, eggs.
What I got was 3 eggs, store bought French fries, and store bought breakfast sausages, and toast. Hardly fancy, or full.
This is just a regular breakfast you can get anywhere for half the price.
Please, see what a proper English breakfast is suppose to be.
A common traditional English breakfast typically includes back bacon, sausages (usually pork), eggs (fried, poached or scrambled), fried or grilled tomatoes, fried mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans, and toast or fried bread.
Charge what you need to have all this. People will come for a proper English breakfast if it’s on the menu.
French fries for breakfast? Belongs on the kids menu.
Place has potential; they just need to figure somethings out.
Lovely, and prompt...
