A&W Canada — Restaurant in Richmond

Has anyone else ever experienced the staff at this particular location, when you pull up to order at the drive through and you finish telling them what you want, they ask you to drive ahead without giving you a total cost for your order, and usually you're shocked at how much the total cost is, or why your total comes to an even $10,$20,$25 ... Always ask for a copy of the receipt from this place that gives you the breakdown of each order and how much each one costs, because i have had items added to my order, have had receipts say "Misc item" and charged $10 and received onions rings and a regular rootbeer. I have been refused a receipt fhrough the drivethrough when asked to be provided with one, they woukd only give me the debit card machine printout, not the till receipt.

Buyer beware at this particular A&W. I have stopped going here and instead drive all the way to Oak...

I dined in at the 3080 Saint Edwards Drive location in Richmond on September 10, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM. During my visit, I observed a male staff member wearing glasses engaging in behavior that raised serious concerns regarding food safety and hygiene practices. Specifically, I witnessed this staff member washing his hands with soap and water while still wearing his blue disposable gloves. This practice is highly questionable from a food safety standpoint. Gloves are intended to serve as a barrier between the hands and food or surfaces to prevent cross-contamination. Once gloves become contaminated or if they are washed like bare hands they can no longer serve this purpose effectively. Washing gloved hands with soap and water not only compromises the integrity of the gloves, but also indicates a misunderstanding of basic hygiene protocols in a food service...

How could we NOT visit an A&W while visiting from the States! These are fading away in the States - and this location did not disappoint at all. Great experience.

Dining at 8:30pm - nearly empty when we arrived - food was fantastic! Great tasting grass fed beef, fresh, crispy fries, and they offered a lettuce wrapped burger for my Gluten Free family members.

We couldn't find anything about the toppings or condiments to dock them on! Portions and preparation were spot on and had no qualms about eating here.

Tables were all clean, restrooms were as well. It's a great fast-food option if you're in the area - and that is the only reason they got a 4 out of 5 on atmosphere... If I could give a...
