Pros: The lady taking my order was nice. Cons: Not very tasty...
Bourbon Street Grill has always been my go-to food court stall because it has good tasting, fresh food. However, this location is vastly different compared to the one in Twassessen and Metrotown, and even the ones that I've been to in Saskatchewan and Toronto.
The staple dish, Bourbon Chicken, does NOT taste like the bourbon chicken I'm used to. It has a different glaze to it, almost like what the Chinese BBQ places use for their "cha siu" (BBQ pork). In addition to the sauce being different, it is also very dry, hard, and has a slightly off-putting smell.
The rice reminds me more of the chinese Yeung Chow fried rice. However, it is quite hard.
I also had the corn which didn't have much flavor.
I personally find the portion to be adequate, but we should note that it is smaller than the one in metrotown.
I've tried this place 4 times in the past year and it is consistently mediocre. I don't think it will improve, which is a shame. I think next time, I will walk by and see if the quality of the food has changed. If it has, I will happily...
Read moreMy wife went and ordered Mango Chicken and Bourbon Chicken. On their menu, they had 2 sizes: Small ($12.95) and Regular ($17.45). They showed her 2 different containers. She pointed at the larger one and assumed this was regular since they only had 2 sizes on the menu. When it came time to pay, they charged her $26 per meat, instead of $17.45. My wife asked why, and they said they have a "larger size" thats not on the menu, and thats what they gave her. We compared the real "regular" container with the "larger size" container they gave us and it was literally the same size. First of all, why would they not put the "Large" size option on the menu, and secondly why is the difference between small and Regular only $4.50, but the difference between Regular and "Large" over $8, when there is no size difference between the 2 containers? They took advantage of my wife, knowing that there is a big lineup and she is a shy person. Very dis-honest business, and serving...
