Decent Dim Sum restaurant in the heart of Richmond. Service was satisfactory; nothing that stood out as phenomenal nor not terrible. At one point they lost our tea while they took it for a refill. Our neighbor requested for a fork but never came. Our Beef Rice Crepe was processed but also never came. Staff would walk right in to you unlike other fine dining restaurants and hotels which they would move aside with the customer first mentality. Can't expect too much from an average Chinese restaurant. We arrived around 1020am and was offered a table after a quick 3 minute wait for them to clear the table. Wasn't any lineup when we arrived nor were there any lineup throughout our visit. There was a constant arrival of patrons so all the tables were constantly occupied. The shrimp dumpling (ha gow) was decent - though not the best I've had. It is a good size and comes in 4 and each of them were packed with shrimp. However, they were a bit dry and not as juicy and flavorful as the best ones I've had. Lotus Leaf Rice was nice and flavorful - comes in 3s so we almost had to fight over the last one. They do have a larger size shrimp stuffed in it which is different from the ones I've often had. We had the Shrimp salad on a wonton shell - and this was quite a delight. The wonton shell was perfectly crafted to form a square bowl, which is filled with a large shrimp and fruit salad (mayo and fruit chunks) and topped with a little bit of gold flakes. Pretty cool dish that is very unique - we recommend this. Also comes in 3s so we had to fight over the last one. We added the Deep Fried Crab Claw - which comes in 4s. Quite tasty though not as big as the ones I've had but this is only a fraction of the price. $8 for 4, is only $2 per claw - compared to $8 per claw I've had at other restaurants. Which is actually better with the smaller and cheaper portion - so everyone gets to try some. The beef rice crepe did not arrive so we didn't have a chance to try it - but we were full enough by then so we just got it cancelled and removed from our bill. We left around 11am and upon asking the cashier we were informed that we get a discount if we place our orders before 11am. So we got a discount - I believe its a 10% discount. Covers the tip! Typical in Vancouver restaurants they charge a tea...

I’m specifically writing about one rude staff: a black suited, bigger guy, with at least one pigmented spot on his face.
We recently went to this place in Aug and Sept.
August 2023: The guy barely responded to us when we needed more tea. Shortly after we finished our last dish, he tossed down the bill and handed us the machine. We were irritated because we were not prepared to go yet, nor did we ask to pay the bill. When we informed him so, he stood behind a table and STARED at us. When we asked if he could take a photo for us before we leave, he pretended not to see us until we told him he were ready to pay, but we need a photo first. It was a very upsetting meal, but whatever, we thought he could be having a bad day and let it go.
This month, we visited the restaurant again and the SAME GUY one-upped himself when it comes to disrespecting his customer. My grandparents paid our bill in cash and the guy came over, counted each bill one-by-one, and tossed it on the table, saying “IT’S NOT ENOUGH”. I immediately asked him what he meant by “not enough” because we counted the money twice AND made sure we tipped, and the guy says “IT’S NOT ENOUGH TIPS, I’M BRINGING IT TO YOUR ATTENTION. YOU TIPPED BEFORE TAX”. He stared angrily at my grandparents and continued to pressure them to pay more. I was shocked at the level of hostility that this guy is willing to display in a restaurant full of customers. At the end, I asked if he was going to take what he is given, or not. His response? “WELL IF YOU’RE PAYING THIS, OF COURSE I’LL TAKE IT”. We left promptly.
NEVER visiting this place again. Which is a shame, because the staff who passed a us our food was courteous. If this guy had the audacity to harass us loudly this time, who knows how many times he has done this in the past.
FYI, old man, if you are so desperate a higher wage, go and demand that from your EMPLOYER. It is not the customer’s responsibility to pay you more than what you are charging on the menu plus tax. Tips is not mandatory nor is it in Canadian law. Entitled and rude workers like you is what ruins the tipping culture for other people. Try and actually be nice if you want people to...
Read moreWent here earlier today with my sister.
Arrived at 11am was seated right away thought this was a good sign.
Ordered 5 items we would typically have ordered from other places. My sister's only 2 requests were Sticky rice and Wu Gok (deep fried taro dumpling). They did not have it on the menu which was a bit disheartening but not a big deal.
5 items we ordered were: Shumai (steamed pork and shrimp) Har gow (steamed shrimp) Sticky Rice Shrimp in Rice Roll Shrimp Spring Roll
Handed our order to the important man in the suit at 11.15. Our first item did not come until 11.50. Then when our order slip came back I noticed only 4 items. After getting the important man in the suit attention he came back with another slip and said Har Gow will be out in 10 mins. 25 mins later 2 other items show up which were wrong.
Other people who were seated after us were getting their orders so i knew something went wrong.
I was trying to find the important man in the suit again to tell him that it was wrong order. But he was not to be found perhaps he took an important meeting at this time or perhaps orbiting space in a space shuttle without a care.
My sister found the issue the menu was staggered like a game of snakes and ladders. The items on the menu and the place where you place your markings on the order sheet were off by one.
So what ended up coming was sticky rice cake and shrimp tempura. Now its almost 12.45pm and we are still awaiting for these Har Gow that perhaps the man in the suit went to catch the shrimp himself we were not to sure.
Our final dish showed up and at this time we wanted to pay the bill and leave. So frustrated the important man in the suit disappeared again he was becoming a shadow in the dark. After another 20 mins we paid for our meals and left.
Well never ever again. Well over priced Well under serviced Well zero cares were given
If you want go some where and eat mediocre food and pay a lot more then what it is worth by all means go ahead. But don't let the small steam baskets fool you in thinking the food looks bigger then it is.
Waste of time and money the 5 items cost...
