It’s not just Chinese food. It’s Shanghai food.
Got take out here today and oh boy, we were really surprised by how great everything tasted even after the drive home.
We used to eat at the food court but decided on take out due because it was close to closing time (7pm).
Was really craving the Grilled Juice Pork Buns but they were sold out so we opted for the XLB instead which did not disappoint. They were still warm when we got home and the buns were bursting with juicy goodness.
The Northern Style Noodle with Pork Meat Sauce. It’s a perfect mixture of savory and sweet. It may not seem very saucey but it is- it’s just stuck at the bottom. Make sure to mix everything up well.
And our favourite dish we ordered? Drum rolls please! The Fried Beef Pancake Roll. We ordered this as a filler but were SO surprised! It was MMM MMM GOOD! The pancake was crispy yet perfectly chewy. And the meat was tender and full of flavour. If you’re only gonna get one thing from this place, let this be it!
Highly recommend this place. Take out process was quick and efficient. Everything tasted like restaurant quality. Will definitely...
Read moreThis is a wonderful gem when you find yourself in Richmond, in particular, when you feel the hunger while walking in Lansdowne Mall. Homemade soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao or XLB) are comparable to the best ones available in Metro Vancouver. We also ordered the Pork & Cabbage pan-fried dumplings (potstickers) which were great value - large dumplings that were not shy on pork filling and they even had a bit of soup inside, so they were not at all dry. The dumpling skin was the perfect thickness. The last food item ordered was the steamed pork dumplings (Siu Mai). These were cute and bite sized, pure pork bites that were quite delectable - they do not compare to the standard ginormous ones offered at many dim sum restaurants now, but they do have their charm. We were utterly surprised by the Lemon Iced Tea - SOOO GOOD! it would be a refreshing treat on a nice hot day, or any time for that matter. A true hidden gem in this food court - however, if they keep their game up, it may not be all that hidden anymore. Go...
Read moreSuper delicious food here always. Price can be a little bit pricey at times, but I'm still happy to pay it for my dumplings. Because at least the price isn't as outrageous as some other places that taste less good. The wait for these items are generally not too long, but if you're going there during lunch time then you might be getting a different experience.
This place, as well as TNT food court in Richmond, are my main go to for dumplings when I'm jonesing for them. The way they make their dumplings is so homey, definitely feels homemade and not Factory made. And I judge this based on the chewiness, shape, juciness and the filling flavors of these dumplings personally. They also have really good soup...
