I've been to Icy Bar quite a few times for late night take out dessert. Generally the food and service is average and nothing to speak for or against them. I quite like the Mango Mochi Ice Cream Icy. Tonight really discouraged me from ever going there again. It started with my girlfriend calling and ordering the usual. The gentleman at the shop was very rude as there was a miscommunication since they ran out of "Mochi" and had to give us "Mango (flavoured) Mochi". I get that there was a misunderstanding so I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Upon arriving, we told the gentleman that we had ordered takeout over the phone. He says we're closed and no longer taking orders. Had to explain to him again that we already ordered. Took out a credit card and was waiting to pay. He then proceeds to just chat with his coworkers for a few minutes. Turns around and asks for payment method when I have been holding my Mastercard for a good 5 minutes. By the time we walked out of the store, the Icy was already half melted before we even left the parking lot. Read moreI recently visited the Icy Bar with high hopes for a delightful dining experience, but unfortunately, my visit turned out to be a complete disappointment. The level of incompetence displayed by the waiter left me utterly frustrated and dissatisfied.
To begin with, our order was inexplicably forgotten, and we were left waiting for a staggering 45 minutes without any explanation or apology. The lack of attentiveness and basic customer service skills demonstrated by the waiter were nothing short of astonishing. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to neglect its customers in such a blatant manner.
What made matters worse was the complete absence of an apology. Not only did the waiter fail to acknowledge their mistake, but they also seemed disinterested and unconcerned about our inconvenience. Their lack of professionalism and basic courtesy is truly astonishing and reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
Based on my experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Icy Bar to anyone. There are numerous other establishments that value their customers and provide exceptional service. I would strongly advise potential patrons to consider other options unless they are willing to endure a frustrating and disappointing...
Read moreThe take out portion doesn't worth the price. I ordered an Milk flavor icy with 2 free toppings on top, unfortunately I cannot have the same topping twice. They charge extra money if I want the same topping. When I get back home (~ 5 mins drive) & open the bag, I cannot believe the container is so small and it's only half full. It's too sweet for my liking even without the condense milk. The customer service is quite unprofessional. Firstly, there is a notice, saying a minimal of mandatary 10% tips for dine-in more than 4 people. I was ordering take out, and the lady asked me to wait outside for my order, which is definitely fine. But there is another guy in the store, who seems to know the lady. He doesn't look like dining in couz there is empty table, so I assume he is ordering take out... and on the hottest day of the year, he can stay inside to wait for his to-go order while all others are waiting outside under the heat.
