This opened last year and had the BIGGEST hype over it because they are popular in Asia for their King of Mango. Even though it has been a year, holy cow, the line up is persisting out the door and down the block. I purposely chose to come here a year after the hype is gone, and after all their pure marketing thing, but it looks like the hype is real!
With the amount of waiting and people wanting and ordering drinks, there is literally NO SITTING SPACE. You order, you wait and you leave is the goal of this place. And on top of that, you don't need to talk to anyone to order, you just tap tap tap on a tablet, pay only via card and you wait. Me and my friends chose to walk around the plaza instead of just standing there like ducks. But we for sure ordered a drink each and chose to walk around.
The wait wasn't too bad, I mean we did look at 3-4 stores before actually getting our order, I would say it was like a small 15-20 minute wait for our drinks. Because there were so many staff behind that work counter just making drinks like a machine. Props to the staff really, because with the hype still going a year after their opening sure.
Anyways, I would 100% recommend this place to grab a quick King of Mango to go, as the amount of mangoes that go into 1 of those large cups are just worth it, and their Tea flavoured jelly was delicious! Would come back again if the hype dies...
Read moreI went here just after dinner and it was like a different world out there. The store is packed with people inside and out. Mostly hanging out waiting for their orders. There was a bit of a line to put in our order but it wasn’t too bad as my friends had been there before and they were quick at ordering. We all had the same mango smoothie and one other one, i can’t remember the flavour. It’s called King of Mango smoothie. It has layers of fresh mango at the bottom, their signature sweet cream and coconut jelly plus topped with fresh mango as well. It is delicious right from the first drink and surprisingly not as sweet. Well I guess you can control the sweetness to your liking. I’m not a fan of the coconut jelly, but then I’m not sure if you can customize. I wasn’t the one who ordered, I just went with what my friends recommended. I was a bit overwhelmed with the crowd, although people seem to be really patient waiting. We waited around 15-20 mins. Maybe next time, we’ll go earlier in the day when it’s not as busy and order myself. Overall it’s a refreshing drink and a good option for dessert especially for mango lovers like me.
Just a note, there’s lots of parking in this complex but it can be challenging given that the area is very busy with other retailers and...
Read moreCurious after seeing a long line at Macu Tea on Capstan Way, I decided to give it a try. Many reviews raved about their famous King Mango Chichi and Chichi Grape Smoothies and the Bobos. The Bobos has the extra agar they said but I don’t know what that is so I went with the Chichi Strawberry as the grape and mango is out of stock.
As someone health-conscious, I initially hesitated because the drink looked heavy in pictures. However, after watching how they prepared it behind the counter, I was impressed. They use fresh ingredients and load the drinks with real fruit, which immediately gave me confidence. Sure enough, the Chichi Strawberry was incredible—packed with a cup of fresh strawberries and topped with cheese foam. It was so good! It was like strawberry and cheese.
What surprised me most was the jasmine-scented jelly sinker at the bottom. The drink wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated, and I liked it so much that I’m now curious to try more from Macu’s smoothie series—it’s absolutely worth it.
As for their milk tea, it was just average, similar to what you’d find elsewhere. But what sets Macu apart are their Bobo and Chichi drinks. The quality of the fruits they use is exceptional, and for that alone, I’m giving Macu...
