Delicious noodles
Went here for dinner. Ordered spicy shredded potato, Xian hand pulled noodle with hot spicy oil, cumin lamb fried noodles, tomato eggs and soy bean pork noodles, and cucumber with peanuts in chili oil. We got the Xian hand pulled noodle and tomato dishes in biang biang noodle and the cumin dish in the hand pulled noodle option with everything in mild spice level.
The shredded potato dish was very good. The cucumber dish had a lot of oil and sauce with most of the peanuts swimming in it and on the bottom. I wouldn’t get the cucumber dish again because it was very oily but I would try the garlic cucumber instead.
The best dish was the Xian hand pulled noodle in hot spicy oil. The spice level was perfect and wasn’t too spicy for my twelve year old.
The cumin lamb fried noodle needed bigger pieces of meat. The meat is cut into skinny little pieces and I’d prefer wider thin pieces. The hand pulled noodles pick up the cumin flavours very well and were delicious. In fact all of the noodles have a good chew to them and are very good.
The tomato egg dish was sweet and tangy so a welcome change from the mostly spicy dishes that we ordered. The egg was very fluffy and you get lots of it. There is a sort of soup or sauce at the bottom of the tomato dish that I could do without. I would prefer that dish to be more dry and served on a plate so no soup or sauce. Next time I’d try the tomato egg noodle with no other protein other than egg.
Price wise the whole menu is very reasonable and the four of us had a dinner with leftovers for under $70. The beer is also really cheap at under $6. The food comes out very fast and service is very friendly. It’s a small place so it...
Read moreI came in to try out some authentic food from Xian having visited the city in 2017 and it did not disappoint! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly old woman and she let me choose a place to sit. She immediately brought me some tea and menus. She answered all of my inquisitive questions and was lovely enough to recommend some popular options and gave me suggestions on portion size since I wanted to try a few items but was dining alone. She was very patient and allowed me to order and decide on my second dish later. I had the lamb burger which is like a loose meat sandwich that was very nicely spiced. It tasted pretty close to the one in Xian minus some ingredients like onion from what I remember. It’s a bit messy but it’s part of the vibe. Very yummy and fresh tasting. If you’re not super hungry the sandwich is a nice option and it’s under 10 dollars. The second item I tried was their very popular Biang Biang noodles. They were soo bomb! I loved the spices(not too spicy) and the texture of the noodles were amazing! Full of flavour and a huge portion which I had to pack up. (Much better fresh though). Perfect item for a cold, wet day! The food overall was fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. The service was lovely and relaxed and warm. I will definitely return and I hope they continue to maintain their standards! The restaurant was also very clean and not too busy the time I was there so it just added to the chill and pleasant experience. Thank you for the lovely...
Read moreOverall, the whole experience at this place was really enjoyable.
ATMOSPHERE: This place had a very comfortable and cozy vibe to it, as the place was rather compact. At the time (around 6:00-6:30) I arrived, there were only few people there eating, so there was no wait time at all.
SERVICE: The servers were very enthusiastic and helpful in helping me and my family choose what to pick on the menu. They meticulously explained every dish we had questions on, and were very patient. Additionally, the wait-time for the food was very short — as soon as we ordered, we only had to wait around 3-5 minutes for our dishes to arrive.
FOOD: Now for the most important part — the food. I am being completely honest when I say that the food here is absolutely amazing. We ordered the Xi’an Cold Noodles, Shredded Potatoes, Chinese Pork Burger, Spicy Biang Biang Noodles, and Pita Bread in Stewed Lamb Soup. They were all delicious, and we cleared all the dishes. I particularly really enjoyed the Pita Bread in Stewed Lamb Soup, as the bread had a thick and chewy texture, and all the ingredients in the soup had a super aromatic flavour. Overall, amazing, and would...
