On August 30th, 2022 9:00 pm I ordered 1 XL black coffee, 1 Quarter Pounder meal, 1 Big Mac meal, and 1 Quarter pounder at this McDonald's. When the lady at the counter called my order she only gave me the XL coffee, I waited for about 20 minutes and my number wasn't called again. So I went to the counter and showed the lady (the same lady that gave me the coffee) my receipt and asked "Hi, I ordered this a while ago and I was wondering if there is anything wrong with it." She went and showed my receipt to another woman. The woman she talked to said "That order was called out like 20 minutes ago...", frowning. The lady who was the cashier came back and said very rudely "That order was called out a long time ago, now your food, its like, just sitting there!" as if she wasn't the one who only gave me the coffee without the other parts of my order. It was as if she was blaming everything on me! So I said "I know my order was called out, but when it was, I only got my coffee." She just said "Well, your food is just sitting there now!" so I asked if I could have my order. She said "You have to talk to the manager to get it, I can't touch your food because you didn't come get it when your order was called." With her eyes wide open and shaking her head as if she was scolding me! I told her again that I did come for my order when it was called, but she just ignored me. She brought me my food a couple minutes later although I hadn't even talked to the manager because the cashier had never even told me who the manager was! When I checked if I had gotten the right order, the Strawberry Fruitopia from the Quarter Pounder meal was missing. I asked for it and a different person gave me it. That is understandable though, because I have been to many other McDonald's and that is not the first time that has happened. That's okay though. The reason I gave one star though is because the staff was very rude and reacted unusually. I hope future customers are not treated as unkindly as I was treated during...
Read moreJust left this McDonald’s and I feel like I need to shower—not because of the food, but because of what I witnessed behind the counter.
While waiting for my order, I noticed a woman working the line. No uniform. No slip-resistant shoes. And her hair? Loosely tied back in what can only be described as a low ponytail barely hanging on, with strands floating freely like they were looking to join someone’s McChicken.
She was calling out order numbers, handing food directly to customers, and then scooping fries over the fryer—hair swinging, flannel shirt flapping. It was like a casual Friday wandered into a health inspection.
I discreetly mentioned this to the shift manager. He said, “Only kitchen staff are required to wear hairnets.” I replied, “She’s literally scooping fries over the fryer.” He nodded and said, “Okay, I’ll find a way to tell her.”
Fast-forward a few minutes: I walked back in to grab a tray. She hadn’t moved, still in full flannel fry-duty mode. That’s when the manager said again that he’d “find a way to bring it up to her.” Spoiler: that way never came.
Now, I know it’s McDonald’s—not a Michelin-starred kitchen—but basic food safety isn’t optional. There’s a whole manual for this stuff. And I promise you, nowhere in it does it say “ponytail vibes and casual streetwear welcome at the fry station.”
So if you find a long blonde hair clinging to your hash brown this morning, now you know why. You can thank the lady in red flannel—clearly not in uniform, but apparently in charge...

THEY had no clue ... so waited again...finally a very ignorant supervisor came and said, so what the problem. Stated what happened and she mearly stated that they were busy and maybe the person on drive was busy... no I am sorry. I wasn't really looking for anything other than an apology. Never got one !! I can say tho that the female supervisor about 55 ish has the manners of a wet noodle ( and I have a name of a really good salon that can take care of her really sadly coloured hair and her 3 days hair growth on her upper lip and chin). I make no apologies for that. I would gladly drive all the way to the east end McDonalds than have to deal with the Great Northern Road location again, or run...
