Food for two plus drinks, and tip: $120
Positive: Easy to find location with lots of free parking around. Interior is decorated in a nice blue that exhibits a bit of fine dining, at least a nice place for dates (think Il terrazo but 1/4 of the size).
We met the owner chef and his service was impeccable. We receive two free glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Easy to talk to and still have that excitment of being a new owner chef restaurant.
Food: It touches the fine dining line, but its not really. Expect small quantiy.
It is one of the few places that offers poach salmon and beef wellington. All cocktail selection was delicious.
Cons:
Very small location especially for dinner. Get busy and loud like Pagliacci Restaurant.
Dinner service is a bit of hit and miss, and honestly sometimes he is just overwhelmed.
Place is not really set up for kids ( due to small interior).
Food for thought:
New restuarant that offers unique dishes that is hard to find and to cook. Owner Chef seems to be fine tuning how best to run this restaurant, so i would be patient.
If ordering steak, be sure to emphasize how you want it cook, if not it will come as medium.
Quantity is small, therefore the focus is quality over quantity.
Prices are resonable for what it is offered, and he offers unique hard to cook dishes that is worth trying at least once in your life time.
Best time to come is during the day (less busy and you get to chat with the chef). Great...
Read moreI highly recommend taking a 5:00 or 5:30 sitting because you get to enjoy the ambience of the venue before it gets busy. We were a table of 5 friends. We shared 2 bottles of the most delicious Rose! We also shared an excellent charcuterie board (with an extra side of bread so we could all have a piece). Every morsal was eaten. I loved the pickled red cabbage on it. Our mains came and they were all delicious and beautifully presented. Mine was rack of lamb. I would have liked a bit more of those accompanying condiment sauces because they were so good. The cod was substituting the Monkfish and was very good. The beef was done perfectly and the veal was not as tender as one would expect but still delicious. Zoe explained each plate to us and the sauces that accompanied the main. There was no rush to finish and Zoe would appear to quietly fill our glasses. We shared to desserts. Both excellent but I am a lemon girl so it wins! The chef even paid us a visit. Finally the crowd in the restaurant at the end of the evening was so delightful. Sidney really is a community and before we knew it we were visiting with people we...
Read moreHad an wonderfully Eclectic dining experience !! Was served by David who had an enticing and knowledgeable base of mixology, cocktails and food pairings that went with this season's menu. Had their made in house focaccia bread with whipped butter and the pork belly starter, which was served with carrots and apple puree' paired with a white Cosmo cocktail made with vodka, lychee and cranberry. Main course was the braised Lamb Shank (incredibly tender !) with a potato/ white parsnip mash/ puree' that was served with roast garden carrots and butternut squash. Tested David's cocktail skills with a custom drink recipe and it turned out uniquely different and exciting ! Dessert was the nutmeg custard tart with an amazing pumpkin ice cream ! Service was quick and efficient despite a full restaurant at 7:00 pm. Atelier has an expansive wine selection that I have no doubt in, can accompany the wide range of palette's that would be in the quaint town of Sidney. Making a reservation was simple and recommended thru OpenTable. Will be looking forward to what creations there lunch menu will have when available next week and will definitely...
