Thai Corner Restaurant — Restaurant in Sidney

I went to this place 4 years ago. It was on a school trip. I had never been to a Thai restaurant before, but it was the only restaurant that fit everyone's food requirements. Although I never caught the name and seemingly lost this place (I live in the US), but I finally found it today. I would say this establishment has the BEST spring rolls I have ever had. (And since this restaurant, I have tried EVERY Thai place in EVERY town I've gone to to attempt to fill the void of the long lost spring rolls) and I will say I yearn to be able to go back to Canada to just have these spring rolls and food. My family eats a lot of Thai food, so this review compares our experience at this restaurant with ones in the US.

We were seated quickly and our server was very kind and attentive. While the food took a long time to come out, our server made sure our requests were fulfilled.

I had the green curry with pork. They gave a generous amount of pork, which I was happy about. I did not like how the spice was just sprinkled on top instead of mixed in, it felt like a shortcut. The curry was underwhelming flavor-wise. It was too sweet, too salty, and lacked the fragrant flavors and aromas that Thai curry is supposed to have.

FYI water tasted weird here. I also did not like how there were flies...

Delicious food, we came in as a family with two children and had a very pleasant time. The restaurant had been recommended to us by friends and it certainly lived up to expectations. The food was absolutely delicious. We didn't have to wait very long and the young waitress was very attentive. It's not cheap but the quality speaks for itself. During these difficult covid times we need to support our local businesses and this is one that certainly deserves it. The only reason I haven't given a 5 star review is the decor does need updating, it's old and not very 'cosy' hence why we hadn't been in before until it was...
