First experience here - I had a fish taco and my wife had a beef burrito, both were delicious. There was a slight hiccup in the service but when I brought it up the owner said that dessert would be on him and brought us two churros. That’s customer service. Doesn’t have a to be a big deal but he stepped up and turned it into a 5-star experience. My second experience here was not great. We came in for churros and they were awful. Hot, but had a tough consistency like cardboard and no sugar on them. This is not what I understand churros to be.

Word of mouth brought us out from Victoria to try this new mexican restaurant, and it was well worth the trip. I had a carnitas taco - slow cooked pork - and Angela had a steak taco. Delicious! Filling, yet light enough that we decided on a second course with the Fiesta Bowl. Their simple ingredients work together for a delicious meal. I especially like the lime pickled onions and their sauces. The great meal and the friendly, engaging staff earns them five stars from me. Mexican food comes to Sidney with a roar!

The taco shell was amazing! But.. I was definitely discouraged by the price and size. They asked if I wanted guac, I said yes.. but it was $1.75+ extra. When I asked for some extra cabbage, I was given 5-6 shreds. Lol. Total came to $18 (no tip, no drink, just one taco salad). Hey, I know running a business costs money.. but I can’t return on these sizes and portions (unless I’m really craving that shell, which is possible).

I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, there's no good salsa (just that vinegary Taco Bellish stuff that comes in a squeeze bottle, or "baja sauce" which appears to be mayonnaise based), and the prices are too high for what you're getting (50 cents for a tiny sprinkle of industrial processed shredded cheese?) If someone's paying this much for a dinky taco, a little cheese sprinkle should be on the house. On the plus side, they do use corn tortillas and the vegetables are fresh. I'd give them three stars if they didn't inflict awful autotuned pop "vocals" on their customers instead of digging up some groovy Latin American music. But if you want passable Mexican food, you'll need to drive to Victoria, and if you want really good Mexican food, you need to get on the ferry and go...

This unassuming spot on the corner seems like where you'd go for a quick meal with few expectations. That was my attitude, anyway, and after a bit of a wait I wasn't really expecting much. But I was impressed as soon as my fish tacos were handed to me: everything was assembled with more care than usual, and the fish was obviously chunky and freshly fried. Even the cabbage seemed fresh and freshly cut! In sum, it was absolutely delicious, with a quality that far surpassed my expectations and seemed like something you'd get at a more formal (and expensive) establishment. Congrats on the owner for sticking to a freshly-made and fresh-quality-ingredients approach to "fast food". I'll definitely swing by again whenever I can (maybe get it to go and walk to the pier only a couple...

As a Latin American I was so disappointed with our experience here. We ordered shrimp and carnitas tacos. The shrimp were from frozen then put into a stand up fryer. The pork was from the bottom of the bin... Dry, stale, and flavourless. The customer service barely had a pulse. The individual helping me didn't do the basics like saying hello. They simply starred at me until I told them my order.

This was an awful experience especially with such high ratings and expectations. Worst of all the tortillas tasted like they were the ones from Fairway foods and were cold by the time my party got to eat them. I would NOT recommend this...
