We chose this diner based on their ratings on Google being from out of town. We were seated at a table that was extremely cold due to sitting in between two doorways. Every time the doors opened, we got a blast of cold air. The restaurant was cold to begin with. A booth opened up and we asked a staff if we could move there. Our food hadn't arrived yet, and we thought the booth would provide a bit of shelter from the wind made by the doors. We were told "no" emphatically. We were quite rudely told the booth wouldn't be much better. I disagreed as the booth was not in direct line of the door. I'm not sure why they couldn't accommodate us. The restaurant was not full at that time. It wasn't until the third booth opened up that they asked if we wanted to move. Perhaps they finally noticed we still had our jackets on and actually realized that we were cold. We heard them talking about us, and our server came and asked if we wanted to move. We were already upset and eating our food, so we said no. We just wanted to hurry up and leave. It appeared to us as though they were catering to their regulars. There were two booths occupied only by one person at each, and we were at a table for 2 in front of the doors. Despite this, we gave the food a chance based on the ratings. It was mediocre at best, unfortunately. We were not made to feel welcome, one staff was very rude (our server was polite and professional), and the food was nothing special. Catering to your loyal regulars is nice, but if you don't make new people feel just as welcome, you won't make new regulars. We...

This was a favourite diner for us from the first time. Quality farm fresh eggs and ingredients. We ate at Five and Dime frequently and loved the food, atmosphere, quality and price. Second last time not so good. I could taste the change from quality ingredients to mediocre. Today we stopped in and will be our last time. The food was not the same quality. My husband who EATS EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING left most of his pancakes on his plate. Mine wasn't the taste I had always enjoyed. The sandwich fell apart. Apparently the bakery they use has changed. Worse than anything. The server was rude, argumentative , and plain surly. Although I feel obligated to leave a generous tip these days. I did but won't return. A new breakfast place is opening across the street. I'll try them and other...

Came here straight from the airport (to do some work in town; 1st time visitor to BC), and quickly scanned Google Maps for all-day breakfast restos and settled on this one. Absolutely no regrets. The place was packed, but since I was by myself, I got a seat at the bar in 5 minutes. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork pancakes (see photo) upon recommendation from one of the servers. Coming from the GTA, I was 3 hours behind my lunch time so was starving! The meal did not disappoint. Had a nice chat with a lovely local couple who sat beside me (they drive 45 minutes regularly to eat here). Finished my meal with a nice latte. Fantastic food surpassed only by an amazingly helpful and friendly staff. An absolute must-try if you're ever in Sidney (or even Victoria for...

Great spot for Breakfast your way; long and lingering or quick bite and on your way. The triple threat / ham, bacon and sausage link with scrambled eggs. The eggs, meat and toast - had two eggs over medium, sour dough toast. Added turkey sausage. Added a side of banana bread. Both of the breakfast dishes come with a generous portion of breakfast potatoes. Very satisfying and delicious. Great job to the Kitchen team! Although you don't see them there's definitely love being served daily. Thank you Sammie and the front of the house team for keeping up with the crowd.

Stopped in for lunch. Huge menu. Couldn't decide between a Benny or the chicken parmesan burger special they had. Extremely disappointed in the sad little frozen chicken patty with melted marble cheese on top and frozen french fries. Please take this off the special menu or upgrade to an actual chicken breast. Not worth $18.50. Everything else that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and homeade. The clubhouse and split pea soup my boyfriend was tasty and fresh. Would recommend going with anything else if you give here a try.
