Can’t believe what’s just happened to me at this restaurant. So I usually order food directly from restaurants as some have advised in the past it’s better for them. This makes a lot of sense as Uber Eats usually charges a percentage for their service.
I went in today after placing an order for Native Rice which was $21 on Uber eats. To my surprise the store was telling me it cost $25+tax for the food. Mind you I’ve never heard before that the in store price will be a lot more expensive than the delivery apps as some restaurants even charge higher for delivery apps to cover the added costs.
I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the lady, who had no credible explanation for it and her only solution was that I could place it on Uber eats. Mind you, it took me about 15mins to drive to the store during my work break. Her final solution was that I could pay cash which would have still been more expensive than ordering from ubereats.
As you guessed I walked out based on the principle, to never return again. I wasted gas, my entire work break, and even more money as I had to go back to work and order from a different restaurant on ubereats.
Really sad because I was becoming a regular at this store (at least 3 to 4 times a week). The other day I even waited over 15-20mins towards the close of the day to drop one of their staff at her place of residence.
My apologies for the lack of coherence but I’m really angry about my experience and wanted to put this out immediately. Thank God a lot of Nigerian restaurants have opened up recently. Will never give this place my business ever again!
*edit: Firstly, this is such an weird response. You updated the price after I left and I have pictures to show it. You have no website so I go to the delivery apps for your menu and prices before I place an order. You couldn’t even apologize for your mistake and you intentionally skipped the main issue and replied to what’s not relevant. Will bringing up to management compensate me for my time or gas I used to come to your place?
Secondly, I came about two days ago and made a note to update the prices on your menu as it’s not been updated since forever. Now it’s obvious it’s intentional so you can raise prices at a whim with no consequences.
Lastly, yes me waiting to take your staff home was my personal decision and would do it again as she had been a great person to deal with anytime I visited. I brought it up so you can learn a thing or two...

Read moreMy family loves trying different cuisines. I took my mother and my daughter here to try Egusi Soup, Poundo Yam, Jollof Rice, and PuffPuff. Our experience was excellent. The woman who (owns?) the establishment was SO kind, I think she was the best part about the entire experience!
The food was delicious. We ate it how it would traditionally be eaten, with our fingers! So much flavour and spice (just what I love). My daughter couldn’t get enough (she’s 12) and ended up finishing everything off on her own lol. That was a few days ago. It was so good I went back today to pick up food for my spouse to try. Again, I ordered Egusi soup and this time I also ordered Suya (spicy beef). I think my favourite was the Suya - so delicious. Will be going back frequently!!
Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your culture. What a...
