JENN & Larry's — Restaurant in Stratford

Today I did not have a good experience with this ice cream shop. My family and I came here to get ice cream and I will say it was ok. but the staff is very rude including jenn and the blonde girl working the counter. I am 14 years old and do not write reviews but I thought it would be necessary to warn others in this case. I asked for a color changing spoon as this place hands them out but the girl working the counter proceeded to roll her eyes at me and give me such unnecessary attitude. it caught me off guard because hearing how nicely she handed the spoon to other people. so I said that's an attitude change. and if someone like that is going to be rude when I did nothing wrong it is un called for. then the manager Jenn comes tromping down to the window and starts to confront me as if she is my mom. and I quite literally am being for real she is hanging out this window, very scary site. saying I have no place to comment about a staffs attitude. with her blue eyes glaring at me in a mean way. talk about some sweet service! she yells at me saying the coloured spoons are for little kids. first of all instead of the attitude from the employee she could have stated nicely that they are for children. but once again I am only 14. i say okay but Jenn as well has a huge attitude and I would not be surprised if the girl working the counter is her daughter due to the similar bad handling tactics. aswell on all this Jenn yelled in front of all the other customers. I wish I made more comments but she honestly was to big of a karen to even bother. so overall the ice cream is mid so you could go support a better place and very rude staff working. and jenn feel free to reply to my review as I have seen you reply to many other one stars demanding answers and being sarcastic in denial. but I am a kid and this whole thing could have been avoided if you were nicer. so add me to your bad review list. I can't wait for your reply...

My experience at this establishment was about a year ago, but it left such a negative impression that I still think about it today and definitely will not be going back here this summer.

I asked a staff member a simple question regarding the ingredients in the coconut soft serve. She didn’t know the answer, however, the owner, Jen, overheard our exchange, misunderstood my question, and responded in an incredibly rude and impatient tone, shouting, “Of course the coconut ice cream is coconut flavored!” I was so taken aback by her reaction that I did not order anything.

I still find it hard to understand why a basic inquiry about a product they offer was met with such hostility. After reading other negative reviews, it seems this isn’t an isolated incident but rather reflective of the owner’s general attitude. I don’t expect over-the-top friendliness, but I do believe that treating customers with bsic decency should be a given. Hopefully, she can take this...
