Spoiler alert! Food items from here are extremely tasty and they are highly addictive! Go there once and you will repeat your visits several times in a week to a month and for years!
I came to know about this place through a friend and wow, what a great favour he did! It’s one of the greatest life time finds for me in the food outlets! Karthik, the owner cum chef brings to your taste buds the most authentic food originating from southern part of India and in particular Tamil Nadu and the quality and genuinity are unbeatable. He can make variety of preparations and custom-make the items for each customer! The best part is since it’s always order on demand and based on the order, the food is prepared, it’s always fresh, unlike other typical restaurants where you get to have carried over food from the previous 7 to 10 days and most of the time you pay are for a stale food! The ingredients used are incredibly genuine and fresh (no sauces, puree or ready made masala are used). Everything is fresh and real ones like tomatoes (no sauce), chilli (no paste), onion and garlic (no powders) etc.
This is my first visit and I have fallen in love head over heels with this place. It’s a takeout joint and you can preorder over phone the items you need by directly texting or talking to Karthik. He is super courteous and friendly and has immense culinary skills having specialized in innumerable food items with his vast and rich experience by having worked first hand in some of the most reputed restaurants.
I ordered for jeeraga samba rice mutton biriyani. Jeeraga samba rice is a special rice and translates to cumin sized grain rice which is expensive than basmati rice and mostly used in premium biriyani in south India! I had also ordered mutton sukka and basmati rice vegetable biriyani. Each Biriyani came with raita, brinjal gravy and sweet bread halwa!
I am a Level 7 google reviewer and normally I post pictures with most of my reviews! This time I couldn’t because even before taking any picture, the aroma and taste of the items were so great and irresistible, I simply forgot to take any picture. Straight away jumped into shovelling the food into the mouth. Biriyani tasted so heavenly, even each and every grain of the rice was fully infused with awesome taste, nicely seasoned with right spices and flavours. Mutton pieces were plenty and very fresh, super soft and super tasty! Honestly, I haven’t had a biriyani of such a taste even in Tamil Nadu! Mutton sukka was excellent!
This will not only my go to place going forward but also will refer this place to my coworkers, relatives and friends for both takeout and bulk catering for any occasion! Highly recommend! Miss it at...
Read moreI tried to avoid giving a bad review the first two times, but after being disappointed a third time I cannot hold back anymore. The first day you made us come all the way after I even called and confirmed that biryani was available, only to find it was not. The second time we ordered “Chennai Biryani” and “65,” and the third time it was “Prawn Chettinad.” Every time, you have deceived customers by using South Indian names for dishes that taste nothing like what they are supposed to be. The biryani was not biryani at all—just pulao that even a simple homemade Chennai biryani would easily beat. The so-called 65 was soggy and tasted like Manchurian, and the Chettinad prawn curry was just another generic North Indian gravy. Do you even know the spices and methods that define a true Chennai biryani or a Chettinad dish? If the chef has never tasted Tamil Nadu food, then why mislead people by using those names? Maybe the people giving good reviews have never eaten real Tamil food, because anyone who has would never call this authentic. The food tasted okay on its own, but Surrey already has plenty of North Indian restaurants. Coming here expecting Tamil-style food is a complete waste of time. If your goal is only to please the majority crowd who prefer North Indian cuisine, then at least rename the dishes honestly so that people like me won’t be...
Read moreWe visited Sri Nallan Anjali Indian Kitchen this past weekend with a group of 15, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The owners were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home.
We had called ahead to make sure it was okay to come 45 minutes before their closing time, and not only did they accommodate us without hesitation—they went above and beyond. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavour, as if it were peak dinner hour.
We ordered around 16 dishes, and most of them were absolutely fantastic. But the true standouts were the Thalapakutty Mutton Biriyani and the Chennai Chukka Chicken Biriyani—easily some of the best South Indian biriyanis we’ve ever had. Finding authentic South Indian biriyani is tough, but this place is a total jackpot!
The ambience was lovely too, with Tamil music playing softly in the background, adding a nostalgic and comforting touch to the whole experience.
Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone craving flavourful, home-style South Indian food. We’ll...
