Saint Germain Bakery — Restaurant in Surrey

Ordered from this bakery a couple times and I gotta say that I have mixed feelings about it. The bakery has good quality products and the taste of their goods are fine. On the other hand, their customer service is sub par and they can be rather impolite. It might be due to the lack of understanding, but I went in today to pick up a cake and the lady asked me for an “order number” which I had no idea what it was because my mother ordered it and I was sent to pick it up. She didn’t tell me anything about an order number and she wasn’t given one either. I just told her what the cake was, what time it was supposed to be picked up at, and I also gave her a phone number. What else would you possibly need to get my cake? My social insurance number? My ID? She seemed easily annoyed and was basically trying to tell me that I’m dumb or something. She rolled her eyes and told me to stand off to the side to deal with another customer while her coworker went to find my cake. You can’t run a business with good product and horrible...

We have been here many times and love the cakes. However, this one instance took us by shock! When we visited on Saturday morning, the store open timings on Google said 9:30am and we arrived at 9:40am. The shutters were up, so we asked the staff who said timings were from 10am onwards. We agreed to wait. We observed one customer was allowed as early as 9:45am, who entered from the side of the shutters. We didn't make a fuss and waited patiently for the store to open as promised. Another gentleman was provided service at 9:55am while we were still waiting outside. When we entered at 9:58am, we were told that they were still not open and we needed to wait. While we were happy to wait for another couple of minutes, the fact that certain individuals were served while others were made to wait outside just because we didn't speak the language, seemed very unfair and...

The first I heard about this place because we had dinner with the neighbor so they brought black sesame cake from Saint Germain. I can say that I fell in love with it because I love black sesame and never tried black sesame cake before. It was amazing!!! I ate most of them myself..lol.. i can't stop eating it. I don't like sweet much and this cake was perfect for me, not too sweet, just perfect. It's my favorite cake now. So one day, I had a chance to visit so I grabbed a couple buns. I love matcha and they have matcha bun, wow love it! Fresh bake and high quality ingredients. And for other buns, all were delicious! So can't wait to visit to try more

For the service, very quick and friendly service, no complain. Plus close to the parking so don't need to walk far,...
