We had a poor dining experience here recently. The food was not bad but the restaurant’s ethics left much to be desired. I would suggest that customers verify the cost of everything (both for eat-in and take-out) before you order and check your food before you eat/leave.
This is what the server told us when she took our order: There vegetarian options for empanadas She had green tea Empanadas were on special for $1 each
Here’s what happened: Server brought Lipton’s black tea Chef made vegetarian empanadas with chicken in it When we ordered vegetarian empanadas to go, the server charged us $23.. for 8 empanadas, three times what we had been quoted When we asked her why we were told they were $1 each, she then said that was a special for dine-in only. Something she failed to mention when we ordered the take-out or when she told us the price in the first place. We told her we would not have ordered the ones to go if we knew they were going to be $3 a piece for such tiny pieces and she had said they were a dollar, she said she would ask her manager. She came back, altered the price by $1. Yes, she charged us $22… for 8 empanadas after telling us they were a dollar each.
Still, we tipped anyway because that’s the way we do things here. We act with integrity. Sadly, the manager who asked the server to still charge us $22… for what should have been $8, has now taken away any future business from me or my dining companion. And forced my hand in writing this review.
I agree mistakes happen, but when brought to their attention, a restaurant should own up to their mistake and absorb the price difference, not push it to the customer - that is akin to misrepresentation/misleadingand reflects unethical and dishonest business practice. Ultimately, that restaurant left a...
Read moreRecently experienced bad service at a festival you guys were serving in Langley Aug 30th 2025. I came to your food tent because you were the closest to me that was serving drinks and my 3 year old son was thirsty. I asked my son which drink he wants. He chose Coca Cola. I asked the lady working there to get me one and in Spanish she said “Los niños de tu edad no deben de tomar coca cola” which isnt a wrong statement and I thought she was trying to be funny with me But she didn’t stop staring at my son and wouldn’t even move to grab me the drink. It was so awkward I thought I would start looking around to try ordering somewhere else because it was at a point where it didn’t seem like a joke anymore. It felt like she didn’t want to sell me the Coca Cola. Eventually she turns around and hand me the can. I gave cash since it was only $3 and they didn’t have change so I offered to pay with card and got charged $3.78 😤 The last thing as mother who is trying to have a good time is to be criticized. On top of that to watch a stranger try to parent my son in that matter wasn’t right! Thank god you guys weren’t serving candy or ice cream because who knows what would happen. I will be avoiding your business at any...
Read moreIf you are ever craving some Colombian dishes, then search no more. They have amazing meals as well as nice appetizers. It is a family run restaurant with amazing home feel vibe. The youngest son is the best waitress I ever dealt with and he has amazing persona for such a young age. Very friendly family. The food is also top notch, can't seem to say anything bad about. The only negative issue for me is the neighborhood which can be a bit sketchy (king George area in Surrey), but if that won't bother you, then I suggest you give them a try. They are offering take out service which is super convenient now with the pandemic. Uf you never try Colombian food before, start with the empanadas, which are patties filled with meat or potato. Makensure to try the...
