When we arrived, there was someone in mid-order at the counter. When it was our turn, we moved up a bit and waited, but when the guy arrived, he was like "yeah???" In a very blunt manner and with no friendliness in his expression, instead of 'hello'. So we ordered and waited for our pick-up, but we waited for about 10 mins for our order, even though the only people who ordered ahead of us were 2 people with few items. They seemed to concentrate on many cars in the drive-through before getting back to us, rather than filling orders chronologically. The next time I tried them again, we had many communication issues. I saw the savory cheese pastry in the display, but it didn't have a label and I forgot the name of it, so I pointed to it and asked for the "savory cheese pastry in the top row". They responded with a very heavy accent that I wasn't able to hear, and so I tried to apologetically say, "I'm sorry?" And they kept thinking I meant the donut, but I kept trying to convey "savory cheese and herb, on the top row" We cleared it up after about 3 tries, and then I asked for a couple parfaits, (since this was about breakfast time still). He was like "what!?" In a incredulous yet blank tone and expression, so I tried to say "parfait" again. He looked like he had zero clue about what it meant after about 2 or 3 tries, then a female coworker gave him a friendly grin/inner laughter and said 'OK let me do this'. So she asked what I needed, and I asked for a few parfaits, and she said, "what's in it?", so I mentioned that it's yogurt, berries, and granola". And she said "that's a smoothie", and I tried to mention that it isn't a drink, it's yogurt. She asked what's in it again, and I said yogurt, berries and granola. And she told me that's a smoothie. I tried to explain that it wasn't a type drink, that it was a food, so she said ok, and went to ask/ or explain to the other lady near the drive-through. They both came back, and the new lady said "that's a smoothie.." I told her it wasn't a drink, it was a food, a yogurt. And that's when they finally mentioned they don't have anything like that there. I didn't realize some locations don't carry it, because I'm from out of town, and all locations I've ever been to in my town as well as other towns, have carried parfaits. I thought that they were just confusing it with something else the entire time. So I ordered something else, and we moved to the side counter to wait to take it away. The original male stood nearby on that side because there were coffee items there that he was preparing for others and he had a very odd demeanor while we stood nearby, as though he were seething and angry about us being there. Throughout this entire thing I didn't state anything rude, and didn't outwardly complain about any items not available in a difficult manner, I didn't linger in anything that went wrong, I didnt even breathe out exhaustively (on both visits) and tried to explain the best I could and didn't feel like I deserved to be made to feel like a criminal that insulted everyone around me. The lady asked if we needed a bag, and I said "ok yes please", she said something to the man that I didnt understand, and he grabbed the bag and threw it on the counter with attitude and turned his body away again without saying anything or looking at us, and still looked mad. Not returning, and not recommending this location to anyone I know. It was a very odd and rude and slow visit every...
Read moreI travel around the Country for work. I have been in Terrace BC for 2 weeks. I think I have found the worst Time Hortons in the Country. I have yet to experience a worse one. This is it.
Every morning Son and I have been getting 2 medium cold brews in the morning. One vanilla and one with just two creams. Sometimes with the occasional bagel. We would go through the drive thru. If there is one car in front of you, 5 minute wait. MINIMUM. Two cars? Well now you're late for work.
When you order, they don't actually put it in the computer. They wait till you're at the window and re-ask your order. So if you order the toasted bagel with cream cheese, well now you gotta wait for that and your coffees to be made. When you get your order, there is always something wrong with it every day. You want two medium cold brews? Take this small and large one. You want ice in that cold brew? Too bad, the 3 pieces of ice have already melted. Ask for extra ice next time? Here is so much ice the coffee is non existent. Are they doing this on purpose? I swear, I've developed an eye twitch..... The only reason kept coming was it was next to my Motel.
Oh and their drive thru is right beside the garbages that they don't close the lids on so yesterday's donuts and bagels are all around the parking lot most days, spread around by crows. In a town with a large homeless population you think the government would allow them to donate that food. But I guess that's actually not this...
Read moreDisappointed today. November 11, Remembrance Day. Walked in and asked for a Dark Roast black coffee. Informed the employee I was a veteran and ID and politely asked that I understood veterans get a free hot beverage on Remembrance Day. Employee informed me they do not. And even asked another employee who knew nothing of this. A google search has multiple sources to say otherwise that policy is that Canadian Forces and veteran are entitled to a free hot beverage on Remembrance Day. So since I was refused I politely paid for the coffee. The employee then pours me a double double. I have never ordered a double double in my life. Just black. So informed the employee politely about the mistake. I donât want to come off sounding entitled. This is their policy and a kind gesture for those that served. Unfortunately this location obviously disregards these kindness or management failed to inform front line staff. I was polite the whole time but extremely disappointed and came away feeling embarrassed for what has never been an issue in the past. The lack of staff knowledge and mistake in the simplest of orders just find myself not being able to stay silent. Mistakes from Timâs used to be rare. But last couple of years they are the norm. I hope corporate or local management can turn...
