食来食往 - 自选骨汤麻辣烫 - Malatang - Spice and Aroma — Restaurant in Toronto

They are not adhering to standards of hygienic practice at this location. My husband and I went in and asked how we were to place the order. Food is laid out in a buffet-style arrangement and we thought that we would have to tell the man behind the counter what our selection was and he would prepare it for us. There seemed to be some language barrier between the three of us, so the employee opened up the barrier (designed to prevent patrons from going to the food-handling area) and motioned us to come inside and assemble our own bowls. There was no offer to us to wash or even sanitize our hands, there were no gloves, there were no face shields or masks to prevent us from contaminating their presumably clean area. All we could think of was 'how many other people have been allowed to enter this area without complying to hygienic practices?!' That said, we left without getting anything. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can't help but wonder: if this is a reflection of their standards of hygiene during a pandemic, what are their "regular"...

Old review: One star is even too much.. cashier is very rude, ignorant to customer.. I ve been here since they opened, that time owner was really nice and staffs were very friendly.. we asked for a sauce, to be in seperated container, staff refused to do it then said he already put it in the food.. So disappointed , will never visit again.

Plus no mask or face shields. I don’t know if they are following government safety guidelines for Covid19..
