First time experience. Located in the Village on the north east corner of Church and Wellesley where Crepe it Up used to have their restaurant.

Easy access, clean kitchen with counter high seating along the walls and window. A large table in the middle of the room easily accommodates several people with short stools. Personally, I miss my little table against the wall and forget about elbow room as far too many seats are squished together. Also, anyone with a dislike of having their backs exposed while eating will not be comfortable with this seating arrangement but the light fixtures and wooden accents add a warmth to your surroundings and should aid in your inner tranquility.

The food is fresh made to order and perfection takes a little time to create. Make no mistake, the nine pieces of Torch Sushi available are perfection. Tasteful, well presented and along with a soup or salad make for a fine lunch. But at a cost.

I ordered the Ocean Miso Soup at $6.99. A delicious and plentiful seafood soup. Unfortunately, it was barely warm at time of service. Sushi wise, I ordered the Tempura Shrimp, Fantastic Four and Marinated Butter Fish. Prices range from $6.75 to $8.50 for three pieces of each order and $12.95 to $16.50 for six pieces of each order. I was given a complimentary green tea. My lunch bill for one came to $31.91 with tax. This for nine pieces of sushi and a soup. Although filling, it’s a bit of a stretch on the wallet.

The Staff are friendly, attentive to their work and the quality is obviously present. An open kitchen allows you to see them prepare your food. Art in the making. It really comes down to how much you think this art is worth. Especially on a regular basis vs an occasional treat.

PS: No place to...

Wonderful experience here yesterday! I went with a group of 5. I knew it was more of a takeout place so I was nervous about seating - but we were lucky and was able to sit on the main large table at the store! This place is good for a quick bite and takeout, but not the best for large groups. Now I know, I would consider just getting foodora, or takeout next time to be safe!

We were lucky yesterday too because they just introduced their new menu - including these combos, which is fantastic for groups! We spent about $80 for 5 people. Our original plan was to just taste every thing and get more of something we really like - but we were already full from one combo C and one combo B.

I don't eat raw fish... but I really like torched sushi because the smokiness covers most of the texture! It was really good - my favourite was the fantastic four. My least favourite was the unagi pressed sushi, I thought it was a bit too much sauce. The matcha dessert was so delicious! Overall a pretty good meal. Avid sushi lovers may disagree, but for someone who mostly opt for veggie sushi options, this was great.

The staff was super friendly, which I always appreciate!! You can sense their energy. I'll be...

I was very excited to try a torch pressed salmon. So I went to this restaurant with my son for the first time. The place was clean, and quiet, no diners at that time but there were lots of food delivery guys. I didn’t expect much of the food as I was just thinking of the salmon (at long last). However, when our food came, I wasn’t really impressed with the sizes of their sushi. The salmon piece on top of the rice was quite thin as in it was like melted with the rice. Yes it tasted good, but it didn’t last good. I don’t know about you but I savour my food in every taste buds I have on my tongue. As I was chewing my food, I only tasted the salmon for a second and then I tasted the rice more. The size of the sushi did not impress me at all. The quality of the sushi box was pretty. The sushi itself was cute (not just the size), they had it decorated on top with herb, spice, sauce. Quite impressive on that area. Price wise, not too expensive nor cheap. Will I come back again? Yes but...
