I would've given this place a better rating if they had better service. I've been coming to this ramen restaurant with my family ever since it open. The place has pretty good ramen and they have have a large variety of soup bases. But the service is horrible and the utensils are not that clean. There was food stuck on some of the chopsticks.

As for why the service is bad. Well, when you first enter no one greets you. They do not even acknowledge your existence. I stood at the door for a couple of minutes before they noticed us. We arrived about 9:50pm and they close at 10:45pm. So we have around an hours before closing. Right when we were seated the lady tells us they're closing soon and there last call is at 10:30. However the way she said it was not polite. Besides that we ordered everything pretty quick as we all knew what we want.

When the food arrived the waitress pretty much kinda dropped the bowls of ramen on the table rather than properly placing them. I didn't really like her attitude already but at least place the ramen on the table properly. The ramen is hot and we have children and seniors at the table. It's dangerous... someone could've gotten burnt if it spilt.

At around 10:30, the time that they said that's their last call. She came around and told us it's last call and just handed us out bill and told us we need to pay because they're trying to cash out. But they could've at least asked us if there was anything else we wanted before handing us the bill.

Overall, the foods good. The teppanyaki steak is really good. Would definitely recommended it. I also like the arisen ramen.

As for service. The Quality of service went down over the years. Service is horrible. The waitress have poor attitudes and pretty much don't want to be there. The place needs to get better waitresses.

Lastly, the signs they posted indicating where the washrooms are, were intended to be funny. But I feel they are kinda...

If I could give this place a 0/10 for quality, service and management, I would.

My experience was absolutely horrible.

We went on Dec 21, at around 4:30. I believe this place is a franchised owned. We were seated and the owner asked our order and was rushing us.. before we finished telling him our full order he was already walking away. There was a group of 4 that came in after us but still got their food before us so we were already confused. I asked a waiter how much longer since it's already been 20 minutes and turns out the owner forgot to place our order so we could hear him yelling and a couple minutes after we got our food... this isn't the worst part yet...

when we got our food, my broth was luke warm... and my friend's was a different noodle type that we asked for (udon was given instead). So we informed the waiter on my friend's order since it was incorrect and I kept mine. At this point I just wanted to eat somewhere else. Anyways, the waiter informed the owner that the order was incorrect and he started to yell at her and everyone was able to hear. I felt so bad for the waiter because she wasn't the one that took our order - it was the owner.

The owner came out and gave a bowl of regular thin noodles.. and expected us to transfer the noodles over and take the udon out ourselves .... it was a self service at that point, so we asked him for a new one... what he did was bring a bowl of a DIFFERENT broth out that was hot, and he dumped the two bowls of noodles in the broth and told us to trasnfer everything else from the first bowl into the new bowl ....

The owner I would say has zero customer service and management.

100% would NOT recommend. It was a...

Honestly the food here is decent, it's definitely not a "proper ramen" spot but the fast food spots of Ramen. I kid you not our order of Steak Ramen and Ajisen Spicy Ramen was on our table within 3 minutes of us ordering. It was really fast. This was when they were basically two tables short and practically full service on a Friday night. The place is definitely a decent place to grab a quick bite.

I have a few gripes though, seems like it's short staffed for one. We never really had anyone check in on us even once, had to call to get water and extra orders in. Front only had 2 staff juggling everything. Almost looked like one guy working was kitchen staff helping out the front. Could maybe use more front-end staff especially on a Friday night?

The ramen wasn't great but it was definitely acceptable and not bad at all. My gripe was though the egg was just a soft boiled egg with no marination. The karaage chicken was really not at all what I expected, it legit was like someone dipped chicken pieces in pancake batter, fried it and served it to us. We got the sweet thai chili sauce with it instead of typically some sort of lemon mayo at most restauraunts which was a really weird combo. The steak preference was also not asked if we wanted it medium or well done. They just brought it out. Steak was like half raw and half medium and a little well done. It was just weird lol.

Honestly, this place is not bad. Definitely worth the visit but food quality can definitely use some improvement. Again, the ramen didn't stand out to me at all but it wasn't as bad as some reviewers mentioned. Definitely try it once to see how you like it if you're...

In the photos: Ajisen Ramen with a Spicy Mala Broth (15.99) Karage Ramen (16.99) Ajisen Ramen w/ Spicy Mala Broth I've ordered this twice so far and the only reason I come back is because of the broth. Inside there is wood ear mushroom, corn, beansrouts, bbq pork, half an egg and noodles. The egg is closed to being fully cooked making it closer to a hard boiled egg...(I prefer the traditional soft boiled) The texture of the noodles are a little on the thicker side and isn't the best texture. The bbq pork is extremely soft and falls apart. The broth has a not rich base with a strong mala flavour. The second time around though, there was a more greasy layer of oil than usual/before. (Not really numbing and spicy) overall: 5/10 (broth 7.8/10) Karage Ramen I just tried the soup of this ramen and it felt quite plain and a flavour that you could get tired of after a while. The karage was fine. It was dark meat battered. Karage is typically eaten with kewpie mayo so I way surprised to see a sweet chili sauce instead. 5/10 The restaurant was cramped and we sat by the windows. It was really cluttered with a bin of random electronics, stacked tables + baby chairs and more. I don't think this is bad or anything as it makes the restaurant more casual and down to earth(?) If you come at a busy time, you will be seated at a table with others. The staff were very fast and kind.

I usually go to the location on Church Street but decided to check this one out last night on a whim. Big mistake on my part because everything about this joint was lacklustre. The restaurant is tiny and not very tidy. The service isn’t great but also not terrible. You’re seated and then the hostess leaves you alone for the rest of your meal, which is quite strange because you would think that they would at least drop by to ask if you need anything or to refill your water at least once. The water is also provided in big plastic cups instead of an actual glass and it feels extremely unsanitary, especially since we weren’t given straws either. The food was the worst bit. It looked and tasted like slop. I take everyone I know to Ajisen. I’ve never had a bad experience there until last night. The food arrived in a bowl that was half empty. It looked like someone had just thrown it in and sent it away. Zero attention was given to the presentation. To make matters worse, the taste was atrocious. The noodles weren’t cooked well and the taste was severely underwhelming, which is not something I’m used to with this chain. All in all, won’t be visiting this location ever again. If you’re interested in checking this restaurant out, please go to the one on Church.
