Unfortunately I cannot put zero stars. Let's briefly describe my experience that left me scratching my head while on vacation with my family. We decided to stop in at this café for brunch before setting out on our day. It had a patio and the food looked decent on the menu. We proceeded to order items for the kids and then my wife placed her order. As it was now my turn I asked for the Philly Steak sandwich which I wanted to pair with a salad. I saw that "personal" sandwiches allowed you to receive a reduced price on the salad as a "combo". Sounded good to me. It's at this time I was in a battle of wits with a complete doorknob. I asked to make this a "combo" and was abruptly told that I could not. I would have to order these as separate items and pay the full price for the salad. I asked why as their menu states you can combine your "personal" sandwich with a salad and you will receive a lower price on the salad. She looked at me and rudely said "What don't you understand?" while pointing at the word "personal" beside the sandwich. "This means half!" she stated. Well.. I guess where I am from "half" means "half" and "personal" is something all together different. For the record, I consider all of the sandwiches I eat (full, quarter, half) to be mine and thus "personal". My wife and I attempted to explain the failed logic she was providing us by asking her "Why are you charging more to add a salad because we are paying full price for a complete sandwich? We are paying double the cost of the half?" This was met with more rude responses of "it's only for personal sandwiches!".. Where do I start banging my head against the wall because this seems like the appropriate next step. I would like to ask you this manager/cashier/server, whatever position you hold in life.. If I were to order one half sandwich then another half sandwich with the salad as a combo I pay less but if I would like to buy the "full" sandwich (which is exactly double the cost of two halves) I pay more for the salad??!!! My ten and seven year old understood this, how do you not? Good business motto "punish the customer who want to spend more money and eat more food"??? Well... At the end of the day, you can't fix stupid. At least I was provided some entertainment for the morning meal. Can't say I...
Read moreI want to preface this by saying that the employees here are always so nice, and the food is consistently good - that MUST be emphasized! But there is a major issue with poorly behaved pets coming into the coffee shop, barking, lunging, and making a scene. I know it’s hard to create confrontation with customers but it is also against the law for people to be doing this and creating unsafe working spaces for people with disabilities who legitimately require service animals.
As I was with a friend with a fully trained service animal it was still unpleasant to be barked at and to see staff stare without anything being done or said about it.
I have included photos of two dogs that actively barked, touched other patrons, jumped up at the counter. The larger black one was so out of control that it pulled and jumped around so much that it spilled it’s owners “for here” tea on it, yelped and cried and then the mom had to ask for a to go cup and leave, and the staff had to clean up the mess it made. This could have been prevented if a staff member asked for a service dog letter as all legal service dog holders carry with them (as are they also vested and under control which this one clearly wasn’t). It isn’t fair that the dog was put in this situation by the owner and that this was also allowed by staff to occur in my opinion.
I want to conclude that the staff were kind to us and acknowledged that if we needed anything after the scene with the unruly dog causing a spill so close to us including offering water for my friend’s service dog they would be happy to do so. But the real service would be to ask those customers to leave their pets outside before those scenes can happen in the...
Read moreI kinda would have liked a heads up that it was a COLD chicken sandwich. What l really didn't like about the chicken is that the chicken looked like it grilled somewhere else from a fridge and then frozen putting grilling marks on it. With a subtle note of: Yes, it was completely frozen and hour ago we thawed it and microwaved it just for you, but it's okay, we have these lovely long lines to show we stamped it with a hot iron to make it look grilled, but it wasn't. Aren't we clever in thinking you would never notice?? 😊.
This of course is not a reflection of the staff as they elevate the Cafe with excellent service and attentiveness. I paid with tax 14 dollars for a sandwich with pre-cooked frozen chicken.
Maybe the beef is a better choice? Their bread is quite fresh and good and so are the construction of the sandwich. Just be mindful of the food when you order so you know what you are paying for and ask questions to the staff. I can pay 11 dollars with tax for a burger made with fresh meat which would be the equivalent as l ordered a sandwich and only a sandwich without any...
