I've been here twice and had absolutely terrible service both times.

We waited at least a half hour to get a table while entertaining a toddler and then didn't get served until over an hour into our visit.

I asked for a high chair right away and someone said yes and then disappeared. My baby became restless after another long wait, so I had to both find and carry a sticky high chair across the busy restaurant on my own (while super hungry) after standing awkwardly holding the baby in the middle of the restaurant. Nobody from the restaurant ever came with a high chair.

Our waiter was extremely rude and avoided any and all eye contact. Actively avoided us. She came over once an hour into our visit and said "not ready?" and walked away before I could say anything. We desperately tried to entertain our baby as she got hungrier during the long wait. At one point my daughter (an infant) dropped a menu because she was playing and I didn't notice (they have about 7 different menus) and the manager barked at me to pick it up. He also made a point of always addressing my husband with terms of respect but had no problem ordering me to do something without so much as a greeting.

When we finally got our food, it had a very long visible hair across the food. The manager promptly apologized and took it away but then we had to wait yet another agonizing wait. We got a discount but it still didn't make up for the awful experience.

Okay, but the green beans were amazing. Only good thing. lol

Horrible, horrible service. I've never been treated this way at any other restaurant and I entered and left starving after being there...

DO NOT EAT here! I went to Asian Legend Don Mills location and had the worst experience. I've been a faithful customer for over 4yrs and never had a bad experience until today. I ordered a spicy shredded beef for 2 that had gone up by $2. The owner/manager explained due to covid, costs had to go up. I completely understood and was happy to pay. When I arrived where I was headed 5 min away, I opened the bag & the soya sauce had completely opened and covered the entire bag. Not a big deal and besides the mess we were happy to enjoy a good meal. When I opened the container which was now half the size the dish was mostly vegetables & hardly any beef. I called immediately & the waitress explained that what I received was as it should be. I couldn't believe it. I immediately went back & the owner/manager accused me of removing food from the dish. As if a person would call and go all the way back when they should have been eating. I kindly asked him for a reimbursement & he said NO. He would not be reimbursing anything back. He sarcastically told me to have a good day and I left. Clearly in order to make a quick buck they would rather lose a long time customer that would have brought in repeat business 10x over. I've never been compelled to write a bad review especially knowing that businesses are suffering during these times but I had to expose this vulgar, establishment. Do not eat here unless you want to be ripped off. I will not be giving them 1 more cent and I hope if you do choose to eat here your experience is better than the many who have given the Don Mills location such...

This is a worse location. I went to pick up the order. When i entered the restaurant on February 24, 2022 around 4:45 p.m. the personal was doing something on the cash machine. I said hi and told him my order number. He looked at me with strange eyes and kept doing what he did. After sometime he asked again what is your number. I told him again. He continue staring at the cash machine like before. He asked me again for the number after sometime. I can see the food is right there ready but he was taking time. Another person acme out of the kitchen and told him something and than he gave the food to me. When he gave me the food, i was telling him gently why you kept the food there and not giving me right away when i was telling you the number at the first time. By the way there was no guest in the restaurant at that time. He was telling, "oh you don't want to wait" I said i can wait if the food is not ready but i don't like to wait if food is ready but you keep e waiting. My time is waisted. I can earn based on the delivery not based on the wait. When i stepped out from the restaurant he put the rating low. My little advise to the restaurant workers. I understand your frustration with current situation but Uber eat is not easy too. We face very cold weather, slippery roads and careful delivery unlike you in the nice and hot restaurant. The food should be prepared with love and dignity for the customers. Not with anger and disappointment. Customers should know food in this restaurant is not prepared with love but...

Mediocre food at premium prices with terrible service. The Decor is nice, though. We arrived at this Asian Legend around 11am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was empty except for two other tables. I have been to Asian Legend before, but always at a location north of Steeles and the quality and service was always very good. Even though the restaurant was empty, it took around 5 minutes for anyone to seat us. When we were seated, there were not enough placements at the table. I ordered a Lemon Iced Tea, but the server brought over a nestea instead. When I told him he had the wrong item, he told me they didn't make Lemon Iced Teas even though it is on their menu. We ordered a variety of dishes, but we most looked forward to the siulongbao. The soup dumplings were smaller than I remembered. The meat was dry but it was still full of soup, which suggests that these dumplings were frozen and then re-steamed. The other food items were not as good as other Asian Legends up north. All in all, a big disappointment. To their credit, the medium sized corn soup was massive, though it was just canned corn with water and corn starch mixed in. When the bill finally came, they did not remove the iced tea from the bill. I'm sure this was just an oversight, but it seemed to me that the overall theme of this restaurant was "just an oversight." Avoid this Asian Legend. There's a Congee Star next door that is half the price, but double the value. 2/10, would not recommend.

Absolutely horrible customer service and terrible food. We ordered Peking duck and upon returning home, we noticed that the pancake wrappers (that differentiate peking duck from just regular roasted duck from a BBQ shop) were not included. When calling the restaurant, they told me it must be my mistake that I don't see the wrappers (?!?!). They then said they could not deliver the missing part of the dish and would not partially refund us. The best they could do is give us a free fried rice next time. To give context, Peking duck costs $50 (with lettuce wrap) and a fried rice not only costs much less (~$10) but would require us to order again from the restaurant that had already treated us as though we made the mistake. The manager that I spoke with said that he didn't care about the lack of customer service and did want to lose money on another duck. Not only is the customer service horrendous, the food was actually disgusting. This photo of the sweet and sour pork shows that it was soggy, gloopy and worse than a food court rendition. As a Chinese person, I am mortified when Chinese owners care more about the bottom line than customer retention. I will not be returning. Ever.

Asian Legend has been around for more than 3 decades with 5 locations total across Ontario. There used to be 1 in St. Catherines and 1 in Vaughan. With a change in business focus, only 2 out of the 5 locations will be operational after the end of this month, September 2024. This location and the one on downtown Spadina will remain operational. We are saddened as this has been one of the restaurant chains our family frequents across the GTA. It’s a trusted brand that serves delicious Northern Chinese Cuisine. The food is consistently good. Every time we dined in, we were always treated and serviced well. We also do take outs occasionally. They have partitioned VIP rooms for your special events or celebrations. One just has to meet their minimum bill spent before taxes. You can call them ahead for further details. Personally, we have used those VIP rooms a lot in the past. It shields your party from the bustling main dining area. They do take reservations. You can pay either cash, debit or credit cards.
