I'd heard many good things about this place and quite a few rave reviews. I have to say, the food is good (not perfect). Firstly, the restaurant has seats just bunched together so when it gets crowded, it gets very hard to move. Secondly, when it's busy, the staff are overwhelmed and the place gets dirty fast. I was trying to find a clean table but that never happened. It took a while to find a staff member to ask her to clean the table (which she did promptly so props to her). Now, for the food. The kebabs and skewers were absolutely delicious. They were juicy, tender, and flavourful. I loved them. The rice, though, seemed like an afterthought. It was the generic rice that all Afghan chains have (simply boiled with no flavour). The naan bread was stale and impossible to eat because it was so hard. That was not good. I'm giving this restaurant the benefit of the doubt (maybe they had a bad day) but the food, overall, was still worth it

One of the food staples in the Toronto region and has been for years a must go to everytime I'm in the area. I always like to go to the first location they opened on overlea Blvd. It has been 4 years since I had Bamiyan kabob and here is my review based on my last visit on August 1st. For a party of 4, we ordered 2 sultani kabob, 1 tandoori Chicken and chicken kabob plates. The bread was OK and it did not feel fresh as I remember it. The food was delicious and the rice was cooked to perfection. The only thing that I did not like was the meat tenderloin pieces that comes with the sultai plate, the pieces were not tender and chew. Another thing that I noticed was that the tables were not cleaned right away after the customers had left and I had to stare at couple of dirty tables while eating. This place used to be immaculate before. Will try again in few months and report back with a follow up.

Unfortunately, my visit was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. The service was slow and uninterested, but the food was great however I was extremely disappointed with the staff as he said to my husband that I am his friend as she says that I am wearing my wedding ring. The atmosphere was also not as pleasant. In either case: I believe that addressing these issues could greatly improve the overall experience for future customers. I recommend the food but not the staff was rude luck of knowledge to judge people right the way either husband or wife nor boyfriend or girlfriend. This is only the reason I gave 2starts .

To be fair, food here taste great! I mostly come here almost every Saturday and my favourite dine in aside from my take out, is choppan kabob dinner. I find the lamb chops too succulent and deliciously cooked/grilled. The portion used to be reasonable just regular but that was fine with me until last Saturday. The usual serving I had was 4 lamb chops regular sized yet last Saturday it was only three regular sizes and when I brought this to the attention of the cashier she said the portion is bigger hence the number of lamb chops which was 3. I just took that with a grain of salt. But today I again came here, and I called their attention reminding about what happened last Saturday and same explanation that it’s about the size. Mind you I’ve been here for about a year now and come here every Saturday when I get the chance. I swear it wasn’t this small as in small. Last Saturday it was 3 pieces but regular not the 4 regular. Now it’s 4 pieces but small ones! Small ones which never ever was the case before. Nada.

I don’t mind if I’m told we had to do it because of increasing costs and not told that it was the same or it’s about the size. I always got the regular size all these months. I don’t mind paying extra if the price increased but we should at least be told in an honest and forthright manner since I am a regular good paying customer and I always am courteous and clean up the table before I leave. I’m just frustrated that I’m treated this way and felt I was being ran around by excuses. I’d never be back again as I shouldn’t have been back today except for the allure and the delectable taste of how they prepare it. Perhaps I’d patronize a restaurant who tells me things honestly. Maybe, that’s how they treat their customers. This just isn’t right and...
