What's not to love about bellys?? Even discounting the nostalgic factor and late night availability that leaves you questioning why other classic alternatives of this stature (or even those a notch below) don't stay open (barring a very select few) - while also considering this busy downtown location (serving a distinctly different crowd than the original Yonge St bellys of years past) can't hold a flame to its distinguished origins - they still have a focus on the most important aspect of any late night establishment, the food!
When the location first opened (in what was considered to be a shocking expansion by many old timers), the first couple visits nearly resulted in a write off (and questions as to why they would demean such an iconic and nearly impossible to rival late night feast) - thankfully we decided to give it another shot several years after their expansion.. very good thing we did! It seems the family took back over their initially poorly run downtown location (determined to show old and new alike exactly what the "belly buster" name was - and everything it stood for) and with the intention of upholding what the original location stood for (and what their downtown venture was meant to replicate) - subs! Excellent homemade quality and friendly service which others only wish they could have. Kudos to our Greek friends (and their family and friends) which bring us such delectable food options - particularly late at night, and downtown!
If you haven't had a sub here yet, do yourself a favour! If you had, then you don't need our opinion. Thanks to everyone at bellys for continuing to fill our tummies with such fresh delicious subs - the employees only add to the overall experience with their friendly and easygoing demeanour and willingness to assist with any request, both food and non food related. We'll be back as often as usual - knowing even prior to ordering that we'll be satisfied.. at minimum!...
Read moreI ordered for the first time through RITUAL and was sadly a little disappointed. I initially decided to try out this place because I saw that there was a $5 off promotion for the first order.
I ordered the: Turkey & Bacon Sub( $9.95) White Bread, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onions, Black Olives, Mayo, Chipotle Mayo, Hot Sauce, Sub Sauce
The sandwich itself was honestly just okayyyy, it was nice that the bread and bacon both tasted super fresh, but the rest of the ingredients lacked taste. Even though I arrived on time, my sandwich was pretty soggy. I ordered 4 different sauces and unfortunately, I couldn't really taste any of them. which leads me to think the reason it was so wet, was because of the tomatoes & pickles. Overall it was an ok first visit, the service was fast & friendly, and I noticed there was a good amount of seating both inside and outside. While it's a pretty quick option if you're in the area, I don't think this would be my first choice especially considering the...
Read morePlaced an order using their website and the store didn't receive it until I got there 👎🏾 I try to avoid using Uber eats for pick up but I may just have to do that.
Clean place with nice staff. I ordered a 6 inch cheesesteak which is actually bigger than a 6 inch and good sandwich all round with the topping and sauce suggestions given by the employee. I seen a comment that the 12 inch is small compared to the 6 inch but I think the 12 inch size is right and the 6 inch bun is just massive. I took 2 stars off because a lady was allowed to come into the store without a mask when masks are required during the third wave of COVID19. She did ask if she can get an mask exemption and they allowed it. She didn't have to justify if it was for personal or medical reasons and got into the store pretty easy without a mask. It was my first time eating here so I'm not sure how often this happens. I don't feel safe eating there again so I won't be going back for the...
