Absolute fantastic Bloor West Village neighbourhood bar that offers you a jovial atmosphere and the staff are a delighted to serve you food, alcohol, or a friendly smile. I came here for a friend's birthday where he is not just a regular but seemed like a beloved regular. They even came out with a little birthday dessert and song at the height of the evening. It was very sweet and thoughtful. The staff here are really friendly and service is super duper quick. The atmosphere is just exactly what you would expect it to be. Music blasting over the speakers, mix of seating between bar, tables, and couches, a golden tee machine in the back when you have a score to settle, a chalkboard with the latest available suds to wet your whistle, and a friendly face to welcome you. Drink selection is pretty good here. I got to try this Nickelbrook barrel-aged plum sour that was just a lip-smacking delight. I didn't get a chance to try the food but someone at my table did order one of their off-menu specials of the day and it looked delicious. It was a grilled (or stuffed) quarter chicken leg on a bed of really flavourful creamy barley and topped with green beans. I'm secretly impressed that this came from a pub kitchen. Shout-out to Shannon who not only made sure we never had an empty beer glass in front of us for long and willing to join in on the friendly ribbing of a Yelp Elite at the table. It was a hoot! :-D

One review that caught my eye and actually made me decide on going and checking out this local small cozy pub reads "like having beer in your grandma's (in a good way)" and this was so spot on from the minute you walk in ! We ended up there on wing night which as a pescatarian really didn't do much for me however it looked like it had brought a good crowd which had made the place packed .... And following the grandma comment I would say Bryden is a place to be enjoyed more on its down time at lesser decibels. Will be going back to surprise my wife for romantic night as she loves authentic local unique or as one friend described it best "the hole in the wall" places

I may be biased as I spend some regular time here. Excellent rotation of Ontario craft beers on tap and packaged (cans/bottles), the menu is delicious and outside of one dish no longer on the menu, every item is drool-worthy! New menu was launched in March 2023 and the Scotch Eggs are heaven, plus some foodie worthy daily specials! Go for the nachos and wings, stay for the beer and neighbourhood vibes.

Visited Bryden's for the 1st time ans was quite impressed with their food prices and drink selection. We came from North York because of the wings special and high rating. The nachos were also fantastic, we added chicken and spicy beef and the portions added were quite generous.

Bryden's loses 2 stars to discrimination against Marijuana users. The waitress saw us smoking weed outside which resulted in her cutting off a table of individuals who showed little to no signs of any intoxication. Not only were we keeping to ourselves, but we were speaking at a reasonable room temperature volume and we were not slurring our words or having issues walking. According to our server there is a "new law" surrounding the mixing of Marijuana and alcohol which lead her to cutting us off.

This has never happened in the 5 years of Marijuana being legalized in Canada. As a bartender, it's your job to gage how intoxicated a patron is rather than discriminating against them for smoking a legalized substance. If you're going to penalize customers for smoking a legalized and regulated substance, I recommend moving your business to a region where Marijuana is criminalized. I personally don't believe there is any such law, since I'm sure this law would be echoed in various bars across the city. Upon researching this "law" the server referred to, I couldn't find any notable results on any government websites. I believe we were being unfairly discriminated against because our group did not match the typical demographic that this establishment serves.

The waitress completely ruined our night and regardless of how the food was, I refuse to give my money to establishments that are discriminatory. I would advise staying away from Bryden's if you're a...

This place is just down the street from my boyfriends office, he always told me how good the food was. Yesterday I helped him move some camera equipment back to his office so I suggested we get lunch! What a good idea that was! I walked in and first thing I see is a table with an old trivial pursuit board in it! I immediately got the vibe of the place and I loved it! They have an impressive selection of beers on tap, and a dry cider that I quite enjoyed. The main event was the food, though! We both got wings, medium and Cajun. They were delicious!! Crispy, tender, the cajun ones are fnished on the grill so they have a little sweet/spicy/smokey thing going on. And their house made blue cheese dip... amazing! I was so impressed with this place that I'm planning on surprising my BF at work to take him out for lunch more often! I want to try more items on their menu! And finally I'd like to say the service was excellent! I would absolutely recommend this place, the atmosphere is cozy, the people are friendly. I'm sure you'll have...
