What an AMAZING bistro! While planning my partner's birthday dinner, I found this restaurant through Google reviews. I am SO happy that I found it because wow, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end!
When I made the reservation online, I mentioned in the comments that it was my partner's birthday. I wasn't expecting the restaurant to do anything special. When we got to the restaurant, there was a colourful 'happy birthday' sign and balloons attached to the wall behind my partner's seat. I have never seen any place do this before. That was so thoughtful of them!
Taylor was our server. She was so sweet, very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. She explained their regular and special menus, gave suggestions and alternatives, and accommodated our tastes and needs. Jeffery is the owner and chef. He came out of the back to talk to every single table. I absolutely love when chefs and owners do that; it shows that they care about their restaurant, their employees, and the people they serve. He made sure we were satisfied and told us about his values of being a chef. Hats off to him and his wonderful staff!
Both my partner and I had the 'blue heaven' cocktail. We watched Taylor make the drinks with care and precision; we were really impressed. My partner had the BBQ beef short rib baguette and then the molten cake for dessert. He loved both of them so much. He kept raving about how delicious the baguette was throughout our entire dinner. I had the wheat + mushroom thyme risotto, which was vegan. It was so delicious and flavourful. I usually find risotto dishes plain and sometimes bland, so it's not my go-to meal. This one had so many different ingredients and flavours; I was really impressed. They ran out of the vegan dessert by the end of the night, but they put together various vegan ingredients for me, so that I could still enjoy a dessert. I was so thankful for their efforts. They really went above and beyond!
I would highly recommend this bistro! We had the best experience and will definitely come back when we're in town next. I will be telling everyone I know all about it. I was surprised to see some low-rated reviews on Google; I would honestly ignore them. Everything from the food, to the service, to the staff members, and to the ambiance, made it...
Read moreI’m shocked that people don’t talk about this place more - the food is incredible, the staff & the chef are lovely, and the price point is far more reasonable than anything else in the area. I booked out the restaurant for a work holiday dinner and the chef (Jeffry) worked with me to make a custom 4-course prix fixe menu that was within my budget. He also worked with me on dietary restrictions to make sure there were options for everyone. Our group was shocked at how affordable it was considering the outstanding quality of the food. The Masti appetizer was a particular favourite of the group, but every dish was excellent - I heard rave reviews from everyone on the team (the menu also included gochujang cauliflower, wild rice bisque, wild boar pappardelle, a vegan mushroom risotto, baked salmon, and chocolate ganache cake). The portion sizes were also very generous - I had the salmon main which came with at least a dozen mussels. By the end of the main course, everyone was stuffed but the chocolate cake was so good and nobody could resist having some dessert (the size of the cake slices was also very generous). The cocktails were also delicious, and the service was good too. Chef Jeffry came out to say hi and check in a few times throughout the meal, which was a nice touch. The space is casual, comfortable, and modern. The kitchen is open so you can see the chef & kitchen staff as they work, which I liked. I would recommend this place to anyone - the food is far better than most other restaurants in the area, and for much more reasonable prices. I’m skeptical of high Google review ratings for restaurants downtown because I often find them to be overhyped and mediocre, but Cheffry’s is a standout exception. They have earned every single five...

After much anticipation, I finally had the chance to visit Cheffrey's Bistro in Toronto – an experience that, while initially dampened by an unexpected downpour during my bike ride, was ultimately brightened by exceptional hospitality and delicious food.
Upon arrival, looking as if I'd taken an impromptu swim fully clothed, the staff at Cheffrey's were nothing short of amazing. Their welcome was incredibly warm, and they went above and beyond to help me get comfortable, offering warm beverages and genuine concern. This level of care truly transformed a potentially awkward situation into one of unexpected comfort.
Though my time was regrettably limited due to a pre-existing commitment – a long-anticipated reunion over what I hoped would be glorious bites – I was determined to make the most of it.
Our waiter was incredibly helpful, offering honest recommendations and setting clear timing expectations, which was crucial given our 45-minute window. Thanks to him, our hurried meal, despite my soaked attire, was as pleasant as could be.
I opted for the butter chicken, and it was the absolute perfect bite for the moment: rich, creamy, and wonderfully comforting. It hit just the right spot. My dining companions enjoyed the mushroom soup, which they found to be very good as well.
I am immensely grateful for how accommodating and thoughtful the Cheffrey's team was. This brief, albeit memorable, visit has only heightened my desire to return.
Can't wait to go back, with more time (and hopefully less wet!) to fully explore more of their enticing menu. Cheffrey's Bistro proves that great food paired with outstanding service can truly make any dining experience a...
