Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Toronto

Greeting to all foodies especially the fried chicken fam,

When we walked in, the dining area was empty, and no customers were lined up to order. Yet muddy footprints were all over the place, and pretty much all the tables were dirty except one.

We proceeded to order three pieces of spicy chicken and a classic chicken sandwitch with mashed potatoes and coke. We were informed that it would take 10 minutes for the food to get ready.

We seated oursleves and took off our jackets and it was cold so we had to wear them again, for reference the temperature outside was -4C. Having food with our jackets on isn't something we prefer.

We waited for our food, which was promptly ready. The staff was courteous to ask if any condiments like ketchup and hot sauce were needed. Per our request, she served both. As an act of hospitality I wished we were served at our table as there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant.

Our food was boxed properly and looked fresh with nice aroma. The sandwitch tasted good, the chicken patty was tender and juicy. Creamy mashed potatoes with gravy was awesome. I was led down by the flavor and texture of fried chicked as it wasn't spicy enough, and the texture was chewy rather than crispy. I felt like it was refried.

When I went to use the washroom, it was also riddled with muddy footprints, and the brown paper roll dispener was broken.

We spent around 40 minutes at the restaurant, and no one cleaned the floors nor the tables.

The overall experience is a mixed bag. We both agreed that the sandwitch tasted way better than the fried chicken.

Church’s never disappoints! Every visit to this location has been a delight. The chicken is always hot, crispy, and packed with that signature flavor we all love. The staff here are incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring that even during peak hours, the service is fast and accurate.

I’m a big fan of their new menu items, too—especially the spicy chicken sandwich, which has just the right amount of heat. The sides are always fresh, and I can’t resist their mashed potatoes and gravy. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and the atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great spot for a quick meal or a casual dinner.

I loved this place I order from here all the time and go here all the time. I order from uber eats and they always have a buy one get one deal. Which I like to order for me and my son. I placed my order today and they had the 3 piece chicken combo for the bogo deal. I place my order and it’s $27 or so rounded up. A little while later I get a notification that it’s been modified and now it’s over $30 and it looks like they didn’t even apply the bogo deal. It’s not a lot of money no big deal but it’s just the principle. They said I “requested bigger size” when I never did.
