As a local resident who absolutely LOVES sushi, I was excited to try this restaurant. I’m genuinely concerned about the integrity of their service.

STAFF: they were unprofessional. Their demeanor lacked basic courtesy. While I could have perhaps overlooked this, what truly compelled me to write this review was the dishonesty surrounding our order. We ordered a few, only to be served something entirely different. The presentation and contents of our rolls didn’t match what we ordered. There was no mention of substitutions or unavailable items at the time of ordering. Instead, it seems they decided to butcher the order based on what they had available, and served it without a word. When I raised the issue, the staff denied any error and insisted we had received what we asked for!

What’s most troubling is not just the mistake itself, but the refusal to acknowledge it. I would have understood if they had explained an item was unavailable, but to be met with denial and condescension felt not only disrespectful but also unacceptable from a business that relies on customer trust.

This restaurant has potential given its location and the growing demand for good sushi in the neighborhood, but if the management doesn’t address these issues particularly around staff training, I fear they won’t last. I hope they take this feedback with a grain of salt and use it as a wake-up call to improve. As someone who genuinely wanted to enjoy and support this place, I’m disappointed and wouldn’t...

I don't normally hop on to type reviews about places, but after this experience, I felt the need...

I left a bad Uber Eats rating about their restaurant because I wasn't happy with how things went. This is besides the point. I feel you have every right to review places any way you want depending on your experiences. At the end of the day, I wasn't happy, I gave a low score. I even felt bad about it after since it wasn't entirely their fault.

This review now isn't about that experience. I'm leaving this review because these guys actually CALLED ME at home due to that poor Uber review. They called me, extremely upset about the rating I gave the restaurant, and told me that I should have called them first to rectify the problem (which I did, and was refused any help or resolution BTW). They were very upset that my low rating was based on pricing (It's my right to have an issue with how I spend my money. Period.) They also made it clear that I wasn't welcome there ever again, and made sure to let me know that they have a lot of customers who leave great reviews so banning me was no problem. I'm fine with that, but it does beg the question:

Why would my 1 bad rating (vs. hundreds of great ratings they apparently have) cause such an issue that they would make this call?

I'm not sure what calling me to berate me was supposed to resolve. I would have left only 1 star, but like I said, I felt bad about the initial low Uber score, so I decided to leave one extra...

Horrible experience. Would give 0 stars if possible. We waited for almost 30 minutes after being seated for our order to be taken. Since we were on lunch break, we asked how long we should expect it to take for the food to arrive. We were told "12 minutes." An hour later, we asked to cancel our order and we were told it would be out in "5 minutes". After half our party left, we asked for our food to go... We finally got it after 1.5 hours. None of the drinks we ordered were ever served.

While waiting, we watched the same scenario unfold all throughout the restaurant. One table left without food, paying their bill and deciding to pick it up later "to go." The table next to us also took an hour and a half to be served.

Another party left with food "to go" after waiting for table service only to return later complaining that half the food was missing...

It's always very attentive service whenever I go there to dine. Free soup even before meal starts. The server constantly checked in to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. The owner is sweet, and I observe she constantly provides guidance and training to staff. To be honest it's pricier these days but there goes rent and everything else. Just have to eat out less frequently but I still love the food at Daeco. Fresh and good quality.

Had a mixed chirashi sushi. Quality was decent, it was presented nicely, and I liked the quantity of fish though I would have liked maybe a little more variety even at a higher priced option if available. The rice was a little on the hard side and avocado seemed like it had been sitting out for a while but overall flavour was still good. Met my expectations but wasn’t exceptional. No cash discount, unfortunately.

this was the only sushi place open as early as 10am and I was surprised at how well the service and food was. I was ultimately greeted at the beginning and the server was very nice. I ordered a lunch special for $27 and the portion and quality was just the right size. The sushi rice was not so thick, that I'm able to have a full bodied taste of the food. If I'm ever in town again, I'd come back.
