DIMMI TRATTORIA? More like...dimmi perché questa pizza era così schifo?! NONNA WOULD BE MORTIFIED. This was an absolutely laughable dining experience, and we did laugh. See pictures attached. I dined at your restaurant for my friend's birthday yesterday evening and I was frankly appalled with the quality of food at your restaurant. I have dined at many Italian restaurants in the GTA and this is by far the poorest quality of food I have encountered for what claims to be a fine dining experience. Cafe Diplomatico is on its last legs - my friend recently got food poisoning there - AND I WOULD RUN TO CAFE DIP BEFORE COMING HERE AGAIN. The pizza I ordered, the quattro stagioni, tasted like a frozen boxed pizza. It was extremely undercooked and served lukewarm to the point where the mozzarella was not even fully melted. The ingredients were of such poor quality. The dough was flat, dry, and bland. I understand that the type of pizza you're making is not wood oven pizza, nor was I expecting wood oven pizza, but the crust of my pizza was whiter than a ghost. It looked nothing like your pictures online. Also, the toppings were subpar. I would say they were probably taken from an Aurora jar, but even Aurora is more flavourful and higher quality than these olives and artichokes that garnished my pizza. Overall, the pizza was embarrassing. I would also like to bring to attention that the olive oil at the table was barely even olive oil. It didn't taste like olive oil at all, and was very obviously cut with vegetable oil or water: which is ironic, because considering your prices, you should be able to afford good quality olive oil on every table. It poured out of the bottle faster than Niagara Falls. Olive oil shouldn't move like that. Not to mention the slivers of garlic and peppers inside the bottle which had probably been sitting in there for weeks. If this is the quality of oil you're presenting to your customers, I wouldn't even bother offering it on tables at all. To also note quickly, we were seated at the table beside the stairs, and as servers were walking with their wooden calamari boards, they were spilling calamari all over the floor beside us. A waste of food, unsanitary, and not professional at all. I barely ate half of my meal. There were 3 pieces of my pizza leftover that the server boxed up for me, and I left them on the chair deliberately. They were not worth taking home. Ultimately, this was a terrible experience. Nobody in my party wanted to raise concerns because we were celebrating a birthday, but we were all disappointed with the quality of our food. As an Italian who has had an abundance of great pizza in my lifetime, this was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had in a "fine dining" restaurant. I believe this restaurant originally started in Woodbridge and ventured downtown after doing well. The food I ate yesterday would not even measure up any of the countless Trattorias in Woodbridge today; good or bad.

1st visit- Very good pastas and pizza-must try,I loved extra thin crust! White Sangria-do not recommend, lack of taste and loaded with ice and pieces of apple. T-bone beef was not chewable. Overall, good! Prices are fair. Will be back for more pizza and pasta with seafood About 3rd visit: Service could be a bit better, few things were forgotten through out,but it’s ok Update: waiter got me the wrong wine, instead of Chardonnay she believed I wanted Sauvignon blanc but brought Riesling (What’s the logic here) And,instead of just admitting mistake happened, she tried to convince me that I ordered it. ☹️ It left aftertaste. Over so many restaurants I’ve been to,this happened 2-3 times and ruined the impression of place. Takeout: Cumberland pizza and grilled octopus are my favs,go so well with wine. Update:latest visit June 2021 For over 10 times I’ve been to this place, today experience has been the worst. People working are stressed and rude. I know it must be overwhelming these days, but it ain’t my fault. It’s sad to see such a good place to go down the hill. Yes you guys have clients now,I assume that’s ok to kick out people like that. The guy with curly hair approached us several times “you cannot just sit,you need to place an order “ (POV: we already placed an order.and were waiting for food and drinks). He interrupted me without even letting me talk lmao, you need to take a day off and think that people around you are also stressed with their lives and come to eat and have a good experience.

Went out for a date night a few weeks ago and loved this place! The atmosphere and food is lovely overall. The staff are super friendly and despite us not making a reservation, we were accommodated. We shared a salad, calamari and a pizza between the two of us and with the drinks we had, it was all we needed. The calamari is a popular dish and I could see why! The squid is tender, lightly battered and the sauce on the side is excellent! The tomato salad we had was simple but fresh and delicious. And finally the pizza we had was the gorgonzola and honey pizza. The gorgonzola was toned down with sweetness from the fig and honey. We felt the pizza was ok the sweeter side of our liking however gorgonzola is not everyone's cup of tea but I would have enjoyed a little more sharpness of this wonderful cheese. Last but not least, the cocktails here are lovely. They're a bit on the sweeter side but very enjoyable! We tried the espresso martinis, the lemonchello spritz and so on. Very enjoyable evening and I was happy that the restaurant had a more homey than pretentious vibe. Pricing was not the worst either. It came to $200 for the two of us with 3 rounds of cocktails. Drink s are expensive anywhere you go. Definitely recommend!

Came here last night to treat a friend for her birthday dinner. I normally don't provide feedback as such, but this is extremely warranted. To be fair, our dishes were great. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. My friend ordered the angel hair spaghetti. Everything on that dessert menu was excellent. We had the sticky toffee pudding and the creme brulee.

As someone else who gave a one star review mentioned - there was a waitress who seems to be extremely uneducated with the education level of a 2nd or 3rd grader. Before my meal, I ordered an espresso. After my dessert, I put another order through and asked for a coffee. She came back with an espresso.

To identify this server, I'd like to note that this server (if anyone else gets her in the future) has dark brown curly-wavy shoulder length hair, wears eyeglasses and has the piecing in her gums above her two front teeth (aka the smiley piercing). I have frequented many restaurants in the city of Toronto and have never received the treatment of a server talking back in a debating manner when she didn't want to admit her fault.

She brings back an espresso the second time after I asked for a coffee. I told her "Hi, Sorry, I ordered a coffee." She then tells me, OH that is coffee. I said, "No, this is an espresso, I asked for a coffee." She then told my friend and I, "You're at an Italian restaurant. That is a coffee", and repeated this at least 3x to remind us that we're sitting at an Italian restaurant. AMAZING. My friend stated, "THIS is not our first time at an Italian restaurant." She asks me what I want and then specifically asks after I say 'a coffee', "So you want it with water then?" NO DUH. I ASKED for a coffee this time around.

Firstly, we don't need to be told that we're dining in at an Italian restaurant. Not interrupting and listening to the guest is STEP one of good customer service and I've never had a server's job.... But you know what? I know what good customer service is. My skills are seasoned in this field, not to mention again that we both dine out frequently. I don't think I've ever experienced this treatment at any restaurant in Toronto. My friend and I were both appalled and mildly disgusted with her attitude. She never took ownership or accountability once; but instead gets defensive upon her error.

To the owner/manager of this restaurant. Yesterday was not the first time I have gone to your establishment. However, from the distasteful temperament and disservice, it may be my last. Kindly train your server to not act like the patrons are the ones who are the fools when the error of her listening skills was on her part; especially when we've been drinking coffees and espressos for the last 18 years of our lives.

I would have spoken to the manager, but it was a busy night for them (we left around 9pm and it was a Saturday night). I'm hoping he sees this and rectifies this issue with her service skills before someone else has a sour experience with this particular server's...

I never write reviews, this needed one. Very terrible experience. Our appetizer was the grilled calamari ($15.95) when it arrived it was 2 medium pieces with 3 very small pieces overally decorated with a bunch of lettuce. Definitely over priced for what you get. Main dish was OK, i had a better experience on a previous visit. When we finally got the bill i realized we were being charged for the STILL water we asked for. After complaining to the waitress as to why we were charged she says that they charge for bottled water. I told her we didn't even ask for bottled water (i was under the impression they just served it in a glass bottle for looks as many restaurants Ive been to have done that.. my mistake for not clarifying "tap water"? Perhaps. Lesson learned for sure). The problem I have is the way the manager handled the situation. When I spoke to him he began to say how they charge for bottled water because they import it, fair. I told him that we werent aware we were being charged for it because the waitress never even mentioned it, she just asked if we wanted "fizzy water", and when we said no she assumed we would be ok to pay a total of over $15 ($7.95/bottle) for water we could have gotten for free from the tap & would have been happy with just that. He continued to say that wasnt what she said (as if he were there when we took orders. OK) and said how all restaurants charge for water (what?!) I told him that I've been to many restaurants and have never been charged for water unless it was carbonated. I told him that was fine then (why argue when he was"clearly in the right") but I would never come back to this restaurant and he seemed to be ok with losing out on custumers. I would have been ok if he even knocked off one of the bottles off the bill and this review wouldn't have even gone up. Clearly this manager doesnt know how to ensure paying customers are happy. My boyfriend comes from the culinary industry and he was incredibly displeased with how we were treated. To my understanding it appeared this location is under new management. Its disappointing because I had a wonderful experience the first time I ate at this location, but NEVER again. And I will be passing along this experience to anyone who asks. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT DIMMI. IN THIS BUSINESS THE CUSTOMER IS...
