My one star review is not for the food, but for the horrible service. I went here last weekend. I usually don’t leave bad reviews on restaurants, specially if it’s a busy night, since a lot can go wrong. So, I’ll try my best to explain the bad review. The food smelled delicious as soon as we walked in, there was not much space, but they found us a seat in a corner, next to another family. We ordered katsu rice bowl, smoked salmon dragon roll, and tempura appetizer. As far as I know they serve tea to every table, but we never got any, neither were we offered. Every other table had it before their order was even taken except for us. Then they serve the soup and salad. They left out the spoon for soup. I know some of you might say, I’m supposed to sip it from the bowl. But no, I shouldn’t have to since they did serve others with the spoon. There are photos on google too. Then they served us the rice bowl, no appetizers. We waited for it, but I was hungry and thought it’s busy, so it may take them some time and we should just start eating. We finished it whole and waited for the rest of our food for another 10 minutes maybe, then I called for help, and the server thought I was asking for our bill. After explaining, another 5-6 minutes go by, and we finally get the appetizers. But no dragon rolls. Times rolling, appetizers disappearing, no rolls in sight for half an hour and more. Finally, I am upset enough to ask for the bill without the dragon roll and head out is when they decide to bring it out. It didn’t taste good. Tempura appetizer was great, although the shrimp was a bit raw(shrimp tempura) not how I’ve had it before, not how I prefer it either. Katsu rice bowl was okay, they had the the egg on top which makes the katsu soggy. Dragon roll tasted bland. I hated the whole experience. We spent $40 and I felt if I chewed my money whole, that would have been a better deal for me.

What a disastrous experience. Came in for lunch with a friend and was rushed to sit and order immediately without even being given a chance to settle in and read the menu. When I politely asked for more time to read the menu, the server came back no less than 30 seconds later and demanded that we order. We ordered and only a few minutes later my food came out. However it was nearly a 20 minute wait for my friend’s food to arrive. I had to call over the server again to ask for it. When it did, it was missing the maki and miso soup. I called the server over and asked about the missing food, and she only brought out the maki. The food is mediocre, especially when considering how bad the service is. Will not be returning and will absolutely not be recommending to anyone. Top 10 worst sushi spots in Toronto.

⸻ Sushi Inn in Yorkville has always been one of my favorite spots when I used to live in the area. I recently had the chance to come back with my friend, and I was so happy to return! The food was just as delicious as I remembered — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it felt so nice to be back in such a familiar and cozy place. It was also so lovely to see Maya and AJ again — Maya took great care of us with such kind and attentive service, and AJ was the chef behind the amazing sushi we enjoyed. My friend loved everything too! I’m so glad I could share this little gem with her. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend Sushi Inn in Yorkville to anyone who enjoys quality sushi and a relaxed dining experience.

I have been coming to Sushi Inn for years, and I still can't believe how reasonable the prices are for a place located in Yorkville! I was craving a bento box yesterday, so I stopped in for an early dinner. Unfortunately, I had just missed the lunch specials (lunch specials are available from 11:00am - 3:30pm every day. Yes, every day!) If you miss the lunch specials, the dinner menu costs a couple of extra dollars. I am a creature of habit, so I ordered a bento box. I just love to have a little bit of everything! My friend on the other hand likes to try new things, so he ordered a noodle dish.

Once again, I was not disappointed with the food. For under $13 I got a bento box with teriyaki chicken, tempura veggies and shrimp, six maki rolls, miso soup, rice, salad, spring rolls and dumplings. I also ordered a tea. I was pleased to learn that the noodle dish was a hit with my friend. In fact, I kept stealing pieces of veggies and dipping my rice in the noodle sauce - so good!

The only disappointing part of the meal was the inconsistent service. I had to keep asking for my water to be refilled, and only when we were close to finishing our meal was my tea refilled.

If you are looking for affordable & tasty food, good portions and efficient service in Yorkville, this is the...

They have really great staff, extremely friendly and welcoming HOWEVER, my friends and I decided to go there to grab some lunch. We got seated and they took our order. We got our first order which came out fairly quickly because it was a small appetizer but we also ordered two bento boxes which I knew was gunna take a bit longer to prep. As 20 mins goes by I'm wondering why it's taking so long, so I ask one of the waiters if our order is coming out and he said yes, very soon. 45 mins goes by and still nothing. So I ask again where our food was, he said that the first waitress we ordered from forgot to punch in what we wanted. I'm usually not the type to complain but waiting 45 mins for food to come out was just absolutely insane and the most they offered was a small bowl of ice cream or tea...... to me that was extremely poor customer service. The food was cold, the portions were decent but it was nothing special... especially for the price you're paying it was definitely not worth the money. First and last time going there. If I'm gunna spend 40 dollars there for two items I would have rather spent it on all...
