This is a throwback to donut shops of the '80's and early 90's.
The great 24-hour shops that were all over the city before the franchises and boutique shops took over every street corner.
I had forgotten what those old shops were like. Small, unpretentious a place to just sit down all night, drinking coffee with your friends, discussing life and the world.
The donuts here are the same.
Simple, unpretentious donuts for about a $1 each.
Still warm. Soft and doughy, with a glaze that enhances the flavors instead of drowning them out.
