Sept 5 updated review * First of all, this is the best breakfast place in north York that does not deserve 2 star; I’m only change it to 2 star based on the very recent visit, with the hope that some one in charge will see this, address the potential issues so that we who love Evviva can continue to enjoy this location on Yonge.
We went a long weekend Monday, arrived 11:45am, there was a a group waiting. Luckily we were told we can sit right away with an out door sitting which we did. 20 min after we sit, no one come to provide water or taking order. We went inside remind the host that just make sure we were not forgotten. Wait some more, no one show up. We finally have to grab some one, a very nice girl she said oh I’m so sorry my coworker said she will get to it, she took our order. Another 20 min later our food came, no water, no coffee we ordered show up. We almost finish the meal drinks still not showing up. We have to grab some one again remind them. We did get drink finally toward the end of the meal. We finally saw the waitress seems reasonable for our section, we asked for check, she seems in a rush, she did not even say I will get some one just appears very in patient run off. Finally the one who took our order came. I have been Evviva many times, the services has always been very good, they always come check on you at least once, this time is shockingly concerning, we simply been forgotten? (We sit outside on the south side)
One thing about Evviva is that staff are all very much well trained and they seems also well staffed; prompt, at tentative and friendly. Most important seems all familiar faces show they have a stable team, what happened today?
Food - Evviva had amazing menu and food was excellent for 3-4 times I was here before. Today I do not recognize it. I ordered smoke salmon egg Bennett, the side salad came in I’m super small portion, all saggy looking, looks like some one divided a small portion from an left over, the always best home fry is not even hot. Again super small portion. We also ordered chicken sandwiches which came missing side salad. The coffee and match came out seems some one just blend the ingredient together. The matcha latte also did not come with their classic double glass cup, which always keep drinks warm. instead a sad white mug. Very disappointing.
I will come back again, hopefully this is just one time experience and I will change this review!
March original review Bright decor, clean, fast and friendly services. Extensively impressive vegan menu! Matcha latte unsweetened with oak milk, serve all other kind of norm diary milk. Coffee is amazing. Food is perfect. Just slightly more cost than eggs mart all worth it. Have big table setting for large group too great place for family, or any occasion. I will come just coffee! Open 7am impressive.
Vegan choices: By far most extensive and quality vegan brunch choices. Highly recommend vegan slam platter, 18.99 so much food you can’t finish. Go with scrammed tofu, vegan bacon tase like real meat. Arugula salad on the side did mention even the potato is just right amount of dry and crispy
Price: Avg.: $13-19$, come early 7:8:30 enjoy $9 avocado toast breakfast
Services: Love This place is generously staffed! All well trained host and waiters they friendly, efficient, remember all is on the menu and they are not stressed, smart business move compare many restaurants so...
Read moreExpect a 30-1hour wait. We were told it would be 30 mins and we received a text saying our table is ready. When we go in to claim it, a couple arrived and said they also got a text that their table is ready so the attendant gave our table away to them since they were upset even though they came 30 mins after they received the text about their table. However the attendant told us another table was paying and we would be getting that one once they left so she told us to wait outside and she would send us another text once it’s ready. 15mins later we noticed the table was being cleaned so we expected we would get a text shortly after. However another 15 mins passed and we didn’t receive any texts and when we looked at the table from outside, we noticed the table was now occupied by another party. We went in to ask the attendant but she said those people were also ahead of us, even though earlier she had said we were at the top of the list. It sounded like a lot of excuses and/or poor management of the waitlist. Finally another 10 mins passed and we were seated at a booth. We waited an hour total. We ordered four drinks and the smoke salmon egg Benedict with medium cooked eggs as she recommended. Two orders had runny eggs, however the third one came with a almost fully cooked egg. The waitress saw and said it was over cooked. After a moment of silence, she asked if we wanted it redone. At $18 a plate, it seems like a given that the food should be consistent and at a certain quality. We asked if she can see if something can be done. Moments later she brought two runny poached eggs over. At the one hour mark, the four of us were still chatting and eating away at our plates, it was at this point the waitress started coming by to ask us if we were done our food around every 5 mins. It felt very uncomfortable as we were still eating but felt like we were being rushed to go. I looked to see if there was a long wait but didn’t notice any line by the door. By the 5th time she asked us, we were interrupted so many times that we gave in and asked for the bill. We sat for less than 1.5 hour. Overall even though the ambiance was nice and good for photos but I wouldn’t go back. Brunch is meant to be enjoyed over good conversations and good food but the experience wasn’t great when conversations are cut short and make you feel like you’re taking up their...
Read moreEvviva Breakfast & Lunch Restaurant has become our go-to spot for brunch in North York, and it never fails to impress. As plant-based enthusiasts, the extensive range of vegan options has turned this place into our haven, and we're determined to try every vegan dish on the menu.
The restaurant's aesthetics are a feast for the eyes, with a perfect blend of sophistication and relaxation. The ambiance is not only visually stunning but also provides the ideal backdrop to enjoy a meal. We recently visited during the Holiday Season, and the addition of a beautiful Christmas tree added a touch of festive elegance to the already charming atmosphere.
Despite it being a bustling Tuesday at 12 PM, the service remained impeccable. Our server, Selene, was attentive and respectful, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of delightful.
We love to share our meals and let me tell you, I think we just discovered a taste symphony at Evviva that’s too good to not share! Our recent revelation: Vegan Chick’n and Waffles paired with a steaming cup of Vegan Hot Chocolate. The savoury, tangy, and subtly spicy notes create a perfect harmony with the sweet and creamy cocoa. Trust us, it's a match made in brunch paradise – don't knock it 'til you've tried this divine duo!
And for the matcha lovers, the Vegan Matcha Latte paired with the Vegan Maple Crêpe is a matcha made in heaven. The blend of sweetness and tart freshness from the berries creates a flawless balance. A perfect balance, a duet of flavours that will leave you wondering why you hadn't tried it sooner.
A heartfelt acknowledgment that often goes unnoticed: We want to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for a special touch at Evviva – their heartfelt birthday celebrations. Our dining experience from a couple of months ago, marked by the thoughtful gift of a waffle adorned with a glowing candle, left a lasting impression. These seemingly small gestures are what set Evviva apart, consistently making every visit feel uniquely special and genuinely appreciated. This is a detail we haven't forgotten and one that we sincerely value about Evviva!
Thank you for consistently offering exceptional experiences. We're genuinely excited to savour more of the new vegan dishes recently added to the menu and we look forward to...
