I went to Pho 88 a few weeks ago with my friends for a well-deserved meal after a hard-fought hockey game. We were quite hungry and there weren't many places open on a Wednesday evening. Thankfully, Pho 88 opened their doors with open arms.
We sat down and took a look at their menu. Lots of typical options, ranging from pho to vermicelli bowls to rice dishes. We decided to simplify things and order from their pho menu. In addition, since we were a group, we decided to split an order of their Spring Roll Platter (around $12 dollars) which was not not bad appetizer to split among 3 people.
The bowls of pho came pretty quickly as there weren't many customer in the restaurant at around 10. The broth was adequate at best, as it lacked the aromatics from an excellent bowl of pho. The meat was tender and delicious, which made up for the average broth.
The Spring Roll Platter was quite delicious. There was 3 types: Cold Shrimp, Deep Fried Shrimp and Deep Fried Chicken. The spring rolls were also accompanies by 3 different dipping sauces. The fried spring rolls were deep fried to a nice crisp, while maintaining moisture in the meat. The cold shrimp roll was a bit lackluster, as they did skimp on the amount of shrimp.
Overall, Pho 88 is the not my first choice place for pho, but it is certainly not a bad location if you are looking for a quick,...

There were 2 people eating at the front I assumed were customers but after a few min one of them stood up with their mouth full of food gesturing for us to sit at the back of the restaurant. Kinda weird because I guess that was the server? I mean, I used to be a server at one point and understand people need lunch breaks, but typically we would cover each other and sit somewhere more discrete. But both servers were on break and at the front. Kinda weird because they maybe only opened about 30min prior and it's busy lunch time. Right off the bat-- I could tell this is a regular thing and how they treat their customers.
The person who actually took our order and served us looked like he was the cook because he was wearing an apron. He was great! Memorized our order and served our food promptly! The food overall was delicious and good portion!
When it came to pay, we couldn't find any one and just waited for a long time until we could wave someone down to pay.
I would only go here if you're okay with bad customer service and just...

It was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the portion size was generous. The side of fresh bean sprouts, basil, and lime added the perfect touch to customize each bowl to your liking.
