Editing my initial review after my friend had a terrible experience as well with the same server and the manager didn't reply to my reply to their email:

Recently I went to celebrate my birthday. The host was wonderful and was able to seat us earlier than our reservation, even though it was game night, which I really appreciated.

However, once we were seated, things started to go downhill. Our server took our initial drink order promptly. My friends were ready to order their meals right away, while I needed a few more minutes. I asked the server to go ahead and place their orders, letting her know I’d be ready shortly — but she didn’t return until after my friends had already received and finished their meals. During that time, no one was given napkins or cutlery. Some of my friends had to leave before I even had the chance to place my order. When she eventually brought their bills, I had to request another drink and finally ordered my food — she didn’t check in or ask if we needed anything before that.

My meal took over 30 minutes to arrive, and once it did, I had to wait another 5–10 minutes just to ask for cutlery — which was especially frustrating since I ordered pasta.

When we were finally ready to pay, we tried multiple times to get her attention. She walked right past us even as one of my friends raised her hand and said, “Excuse me.” We were close to going up to the front to ask someone else to help us settle the bill.

As someone who works in the service industry as a server and bartender, I understand how hectic game days can be. But what stood out was that I saw other servers regularly checking in on their tables, while ours was mostly absent — I only saw her check in on another table once or twice in the two hours we were there. It really affected the mood of the evening and put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun birthday celebration.

I did email the manager per their response and they did offer to make things right. One of my friends went and let me know she had the same server with the exact same terrible service so in my reply to their offer to make things right I did bring this to their attention privately via email. They...

We went here on April 20th,2025.

Fox & John’s has taken over the old Craft Brasserie spot after a solid 10-year run, and honestly, the transition feels right.

The space has been reimagined into a modern pub with slick black-and-red branding, a sea of TVs for game days, and a whole separate section carved out for live music and dining, so you can choose your vibe depending on your mood, or live music opportunity.

Our server, Andrea, was friendly, helpful, and easygoing. The kind of service that adds to the experience without hovering or trying too hard.

We stopped by for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The dry-rubbed ribs were meaty and tasty— not fall-off-the-bone soft, but good enough to make you reach for the next one.

The Cajun dry-rubbed wings were crispy with no no gimmicky sauce needed. The fries? Again crispy and soft in the middle (finally, someone’s paying attention), and the side salad was fresh with a nice mix of crunchy veg, not just a sad bowl of lettuce pretending to be a salad.

Drinks didn’t disappoint either. The Old Fashioned was proper; not too sweet, balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing behind the bar. The espresso martini (not pictured because it didn’t last long enough) was equally well done.

Overall, this place feels like it’s made for Liberty Village. Trendy, functional, and just elevated enough without trying too hard. If you’re after a game-day hangout or a casual meal with solid cocktails, Fox & John’s in Liberty Village is...

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. The service upon entering the restaurant was great but once we ordered and the food came it went downhill. I am appreciative that we went in the evening on a Saturday night before a TFC game but the way we were spoken to and treated was terrible. We came to celebrate a 30th birthday and it was such a bad experience. We ordered our food at two separate times because half the party (15 people) came a little late. Some of the requests we made for food such as all flats for wings (got mixed and when asked simply said they couldn't do it but didn't mention it to us), a margarita (that never came), and a buffalo chicken wrap that took over an hour to come out even though it was one of the first meals ordered. When we asked for the manager she came to the table and was unapologetic and justified the poor service (restaurant opened 8 months ago, new staff, etc.). When asking for bills and the cake the server GREER told us "you're asking for the bills and the cake what do you want first" in a very rude tone. When given the bills some items were incorrect which of course accidents happen but when letting the server know she SNATCHED the bill one of the guests at our table.. VERY disrespectful. The food was very mediocre, took long to come, and the service was terrible beyond words. The only good thing about this restaurant was the music. I will never waste my money to...

Really enjoyed our time here today this is my second time here. We came out to eat at Fox and John pub since it’s so close to the BMO stadium. We were a table of six people we all ordered things that would take about 20-25 minutes however it was 40-45 minute wait time for the food. I will say the food was prepared exceptionally well. Three burger meals, one pesto linguine bowl, ribs with fries and a chicken wrap. I must say our waitress was very friendly, she did acknowledge we were waiting awhile but the restaurant was also hustling and bustling. It’s game day here in Toronto! I highly recommend getting the Montreal meat burger angus patty very filling. Overall this place does deserve a five star rating but I have to give it a four for the wait time. I had to help myself to extra napkins since one napkin per guest was not enough. This place is worth the visit one must be patient if going before a game leave a bit early as we did but we had no idea of how busy things really get! Happy hour is from 2-6 pm I would have wished it was an hour early but hey that’s life!

The Fox and John’s recently took over this spot and have done a fantastic job rebranding and reestablishing it as a Liberty Village stronghold. I was genuinely surprised by how great the Guinness was — I expected a mediocre glass, but it was phenomenal. Well done on that! We ordered some appetizers during Social Hour — the nachos, quesadillas, and sliders were excellent and came out of the kitchen hot and fresh. Our experience was made even better by Kaitlin, who did a phenomenal job managing our table and ensuring our large party was well taken care of. She made sure all our dishes were customized exactly as requested. Her service was quick, professional, genuine, and incredibly friendly. Thank you, Kaitlin, for making the experience even more enjoyable!
