I wanted to sit on the patio at 2:30 pm on a Tuesday, which was empty, but wasn’t allowed because I could not bring my scooter into the patio with me.
Although I understand somewhat their situation. They’re trying to keep their patio cluster free and appealing for all their customers. The fact is that my scooter folds up to be roughly 6 times smaller than a baby stroller. And I’m positive someone with a baby stroller would have been allowed onto the patio, without having to “leave it outside”. Which I would do, but these small scooters are very hard to safely lock up. These things are small and it’s not like locking up a bike.
I understand if I was trying to bring a bike onto the patio, but this scooter is far from a bike. Scooters fold up and can be carried with one hand. After I fold it up, it could be stored under my seat, that’s how small this scooter is.
And it’s not like their patio is overrun with scooters.
If all the patios around had a similar policy I would find it much easier to understand. But nevertheless, I was welcomed onto The Three Monkeys Pub, Wild Wings, and Queen Victoria Pub patios with my scooter.
Anyone reading this won’t care about some dude with his scooter, I know.
But the fact is that there are competing restaurants with a more welcoming attitude. That’s the take away here.
And yes, I acknowledge that many of Gabby’s staff are probably quite lovely and at times it’s very welcoming I’m sure. But that wasn’t my experience. It’s a shame I didn’t get a chance to know the place better.
EDIT: I wrote them as per their request and never heard back. Due to the fact that I didn't hear back, it feels like that's their generic response to negative reviews on Google.
DOUBLE EDIT: I've wrote them many times and still...
Read moreWe ordered butter chicken, $20.68 each "buy one get one free " deal, from Ubereat ,totally paid $41.38 for this order this morning.
When we opened up the food, only half of foods on both orders. We are getting mad. Pay $21 with taxes, only half portion of foods. Cheating the customers, and make us like a fool. If you guys planed to cheat the customers, don't put "buy one get one free" deal ..... To said your food is valued $21 with taxes.....You 'Gabby' only gave us $10 valued food. Enlosed our picture to show the public. ** We won't buy your food, and won't buy them again forever...... Cheating experience....... And poor customer services. We tried to contact 'Gabby' , but the manager can't do anything because we ordered food from Ubereat directly, but not from 'Gabby.'... Such as a good excuse not to take good responsibility for our orders, Foods is made from Gabby, if the food have any problems, who will take responsibility?? Gabby or Ubereat????.......... Ubereat didn't know Gabby how much food and quality put for the customers and each orders. Very unhappy and ruin our day!
Remark: We didn't get 8 oz rice and 5 oz chicken , we only know our food such a small portion..Unbelievable!!!! Food just likes for kid.....for sure we didnt get valued $21+taxes food as Gabby's mention. We paid $42 + tax...for two. TOO MUCH......NO CUSTOMER SERVICES.......NO WAY WE WILL BUY FOOD AGAIN....
Read moreI unfortunately had a bad experience this morning with a staff member at this location. I was at the mall today and needed a napkin/a pice of paper towel. Walked into Gabby’s and asked the bartender (Nicole I believe) if I could have one. She asked me if I was a customer to which I replied “No I just need a napkin or a piece of paper towel please”. Nicole pointed outside of the restaurant to the public mall washroom and told me because I am not currently a paying customer she would not provide. I called her out on her pathetic customer service and just lack of human decency and left to find elsewhere (Shout out to Shahi Rasoi - very good hole in the wall Indian restaurant for graciously providing some paper towels). I returned to Gabby’s and asked her name as I wanted to specifically call her out here. She refused and went to get her manager. Manager returned and initially doubled down on not providing…I doubt that’s the customer service attitude that the Gabby’s corporation would be proud of. The manager then back peddled and asked me how much paper I needed. I respectfully declined and walked out. I have been to this and many other Gabby’s locations before but NEVER will again. I hope that your Head office sees this post and looks to improve the lack of basic kindness being perpetuated from the top...
