Read moreSo happy that we checked out Grandma Kitchen today. Located near Spadina and College, this is a gem of a restaurant.
The food was delicious! We had the lunch specials, beef noodle soup, and shanghai beef noodle. The noodles are made in house with a beautiful mouth feel, slightly al dente.
What I love is that both dishes aren't too salty and are nicely flavored. The beef noodle soup broth was light and savory. The Shanghai noodles have great wok hay. The portions are generous and prices are very reasonable.
Clean place! Staff disinfect the tables which is so appreciated. Most importantly, staff are polite and professional. This made for a very pleasant experience.
Note: most dishes are spicy but some can be customized to remove if you can't have it. Both dishes we tried are not spicy.
Also have to add, the bathrooms are bright and clean.
Honestly, this is such a gem! Definitely...

After much back and forth where the server said it's probably a different soup that I ordered before, I had to go back and look for the photo. After I showed the photo, I said I'm not paying more than $8 for the $12 soup, server offered only 15% discount, which is $10.19. I'll never return for this fact and also the General Tao was not good...
