Extremely rude staff, who are high and unhelpful. The store stinks of cigarettes and weed. They sell blind box figures out of the box for a 50% or more markup, but at the same time won’t let you weigh blind box in store? Save yourself the headache and go to Mindzai down the street, they actually treat customers with respect and help you collect.
Update two: see his edit again below. Again, no one was trying to cheat anyone. Literally every other store let’s you do this because it’s not a big deal. But my “issue” was not your rules. Your store your rules and I am happy to respect that. My ISSUE was the rude and unprofessional behaviour towards me and the fact that you are calling me names online. No you have not “cleared up” the issue. Try apologizing next time.
Update: please see their response below as an example of how I was treated. I did not “sneak” in my scale, as I mentioned every other store has NO problem with it. I was actually going to come up and ask to see if I could use the counter, but I didn’t want to move anything without permission.
And what exactly was I being called out for? I was there to add to my collection and have fun. I don’t want to buy open Vinyls, that takes the fun out of it. At other stores you can weigh the boxes and play a guessing game, it makes it fun and it does not even significantly lower your chances of getting duplicates. I weigh the boxes and still have a ton of duplicates.
No one acted like a “brat” and the anger in your response was really unnecessary. We could have had a decent conversation but instead you started things off hostile. We were first time customers and honestly didn’t know the rules. We actually came in because of all the glowing Google reviews. This isn’t how you treat people...what is wrong with you? I also find the fact that of all things you chose to call me a brat is interesting....because i’m a young woman? Real...
Read moreThis shop is NOT wheelchair accessible even though their Google listing says it is. This store was on my bucket list of places to visit while in Toronto & I was looking forward to checking this place out in person as it looked like a cool place with art & art supplies. There's a huge step to get in. It's too bad they haven't invested in a temporary ramp like some other stores have in the area. I imagine it's not that expensive to get. People with disabilities have $$ to spend and deserve to be able to look at products in person.
My friend was able to go in and I was forced to wait outside as I needed to in many of the retail & food establishments in the non-touristy areas of Toronto.
How will this store and all the rest of the stores in the area adhere to the Ontario Accommodation mandate 2024 (now 2025)?
Overall, I think Toronto is one of the least handicap accessible cities I've ever visited. I think it's probably worse than Brooklyn, NY which is infamously non-accessible.
Update: I read your comment and adjusted my rating. I was there on 7/3/24 (possibly 7/4/24). I was outside of your shop for at least 20 minutes and it was pretty obvious I wanted to go in as I said so and the 2 employees inside didn't notice me at all. I shouldn't have to ask you to put a ramp out. If you're truly accessible, it's just out there everyday. Good customer service is the responsibility of the shop owner and it's staff. The burden should not be placed on the customer. I believe the cost to the owner would be minimal especially if you already have a ramp. I'm guessing it would take your staff 2-5 minutes at the opening to put out a ramp everyday. Other stores in the area had one out & I went in and spent $ there. I'm more than happy to change my rating when you're able to have your...
Read moreUpdate: Owner contacted me and said it was a mistake to not include the spray caps. He sent them and I received them in about a week. So even though it was a bit of a pain and delayed the project, they did resolve the issue. — Careful, you may not get what you ordered. I placed an online order for Montana Gold spray paint. 6 cans, 3 different colors. When they arrived, they included just the cans.. like literally the can part only. No lids, only 1 spray cap/nozzle (for all 6 cans), and 1 safety ring. How can you use spray paint without the spray caps? Why would anyone remove the spray caps, safety rings and lids before shipping? Why not just ship what the person bought and paid for? Especially with Montana Gold, where the spray cap is a big reason you buy this brand? You may think, maybe to lower the shipping weight? (I know that makes zero sense as the plastic caps weigh basically nothing, I am just trying to imagine what possible reasoning). But no, cause I also paid an extra $31 for shipping. I have tried calling until the end of their business hours with no answer and so now have tried emailing. I will update with...
